Ron Milus lands in San Diego

The Broncos may be holding a grudge against former defensive backs coach Ron Milus, but former Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy isn’t.

Milus, fired in the wake of a playoff loss to the Ravens that featured three long touchdown passes and an unthinkable 70-yard catch-and-run with less than a minute to play that forced overtime, has been hired by McCoy to serve as defensive backs coach in San Diego.

Technically, the team decided to let Milus’s contract expire.  Still, he was out of the Broncos’ plans not long after safety Rahim Moore flailed and flopped and failed to disrupt a long throw that receiver Jacoby Jones had to stop and wait to catch.

Considering the team was 3rd ranked vs. the pass during the regular season, I’m going to have to side with Milus and McCoy if the only reason he was not re-signed was the Divisional game.

Moore needs to make that play regardless of who his coach is.

My initial reaction was thumbs down figuring his unit lost Denver’s last game. After further consideration I’m happy that the Chargers are making quick yet thoughtful decisions. In other words, they’re playing musical chairs well.

JoeToronto admits, “From one loser to another”, identifying himself accurately for once: “One loser”. Boy, have you ever BEEN to Oakland? If you had, you’d never say anything against San Diego or even Denver. Or even Moose Jaw Saskatchewan.
