APDespite being benched in favor of Evan Dietrich-Smith in December, Green Bay Packers center Jeff Saturday was named to the NFC Pro Bowl roster.
After the Pro Bowl is over, Saturday will make a decision on whether he wants to come back for another season.
According to Andy Fenelon of NFL.com, Saturday said he will sit down with his family and decide if he wants to return for a 15th season.
“As soon as this game is over, we’ll make that final call,” Saturday said.
Saturday has had a stellar career after going undrafted out of North Carolina in 1998. He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts in 1999 and became the Colts starting center for the next decade. He’s a six-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time first team All-Pro.
Due to losing his starting job and the size of his remaining contract, it’s unlikely his future would be with the Packers if he decides to play another season.

he is done.
Why retire when you’re still good enough to only at 8 games and get voted to the pro bowl?
Pro bowl selection is a joke. Case and point…… Jeff Saturday.
He has been a class act for a long time in this league. He knows it is time. Stellar career, including his role in the most recent collective bargaining agreement.
Saturday should go play somewhere else for a couple of seasons. The “Pack” is over-rated and as dead as a Brett Favre comeback.
It’s really comical that a guy can be a healthy scratch for the back 1/4-1/2 of the season and be named to the Pro-Bowl.
The Oline should be picked by the coaches. If there weren’t contractual tie ins/escalators, it’d be a moot point, but most guys go based off of 2 and 3 seasons’ ago work, and get bonuses for it.
Oh, it’s decided.
Seriously how did he make it to the Pro Bowl?
He’s still smart and can still do a decent job in pass protection, but he’s completely ineffective as a run-blocker.
He’s had a great career, but now that he’s reached the point where he’s getting benched in favor of younger guys, it’s probably time to call it quits.
Saturday making the pro bowl is a testament of just how many clueless Packer fans there are in this world. It also poves that the Pro Bowl voting should not be done by fans.
Jeff Saturday’s future was decided when Mike McCarthy benched him for the playoff run.
Great career, HOF player, but he’s done.
A great career…..but it’s time to enjoy retirement
Doesn’t matter what his decision is, the other 31 teams will make it for him. He’s not coming back because he has nowhere to go. He’s so washed up even the Vikings won’t sign him and considering the Vikings love affair for ex-Packers, that’s saying a lot.
He was benched because he couldn’t move people anymore in the run game. The guy who took his place, Evan Dietrich- Smith, made a dramatic improvement in the line play. EDS is an undrafted free agent who was on the practice squad not all that long ago. Jeff, it’s time. You are a warrior, but like fellow team mate Donald Driver, it’s time to hang it up and enjoy your family and the honors that come with being an all-time great.
Great guy in the Indianapolis area. C’mon back to Indy and work with the Colts Jeff!
Saturday in the Pro Bowl is a joke.
If he had any class, he wouldn’t be participating in the Pro Bowl and he would have let someone more deserving have the spot.
