Durable is outstanding, but I really like my Lombardi’s better…I hope Joe wins one so this comes off his back but until he does …durable just doesn’t mean sh– to me

Durable means you’re not using a backup QB instead of your starter. He has nothing on his back, you act like it’s normal for QBs to win a Super Bowl in their first five seasons. Played the Steelers 8 times in his first 3 seasons, right in their prime. People act like he should have done better in 2008, wtf do you expect? A rookie QB to take down the best defense in the league? No, but it toughened him up.

Yeah, after playing the Ravens how many times without Roethlisberger? It’s the NFL, and the Steelers have a great defense. Our defense was pretty bad in a lot of games including that one, Batch was able to move the ball. After repeatedly playing us with backup QBs you’re gonna gloat about how we lost once? We didn’t make any excuses after that game, it was a good win for the Steelers.

Funny how Roethlisberger being out is always an excuse…maybe if he stopped missing four games every season, we wouldn’t have this problem. Durability is an attribute too, and Flacco is very durable.

Unfortunately for Flaco, he’s had to suffer thru “three yards and a cloud of boredom” coaches.

If he had played for someone like Shawn Payton, he would be the best quarterback in the league right now, with one or 2 Superbowls.

Joe’s agent’s comments shoudn’offend anyone, if you listen to the whole comment and look at the source. Sometimes Joe doesn’t pass the eyeball test. He’ll get hurried and make some bad plays.
Most experts can see beyond that and see a franchise QB.

Flacco is elite among active QBs. He has the skillset to be one of the all-time greats, he just needs to keep doing it for another 10 years after Ray Lewis retires. Best deep ball in the league, receivers who can get under it, great coach/GM, an o-line, and even without Ray Ray, that defense is still pretty damn intimidating.

Flacco is the anti-Peyton Manning. He’s got moments of greatness mixed with moments of frustration and bad judgment in the regular season, but he turns his focus up a notch or two come playoffs. He hasn’t had a bad playoff game since following the 2010 season, and he’s definitely turned himself into a major leader of not just the offense, but the entire team.

I’m the first to admit Flacco can look absolutely terrible at times during the regular season. But he always seems to find another gear in the postseason. Pretty well known that he and Cam didn’t see eye to eye. I’m not saying he’s an all time great or anything, but he has gotten crushed a lot for stuff his agent has said and then he’s responded to in less than brilliant ways. Hoping he gets a ring here just to shut the Skip Baylesses of the world up, however briefly.

He’s capable of making all the throws, and more importantly, he’s with a coach and OC who will LET him make the deep throws as well as the shorter stuff.

One of my biggest gripes with NFL play-calling in the last decade-plus is the decrease in teams’ willingness to go for the big play. It’s always been lower percentage than the short stuff, of course, but it’s still a great weapon, psychologically as well as physically. In the early days of the “West Coast offenses”, teams still took their shots downfield. Now, it’s almost all dink-and-dunk, with fifteen-yard patterns considered “deep”.
