There’s still plenty of time until the Super Bowl, which means there’s plenty of time for injured players to get a little healthier before gameday.
It sounds like that’s a good thing for Ravens linebacker Dannell Ellerbe. Ellerbe missed practice for the third straight day because of a sprained right ankle an a minor back injury. Ellerbe said on Friday that he’d say he’s a “10” on a 1-10 scale of how banged up he is right now, but also said that he would have found a way to get on the field if the Super Bowl was being played this weekend.
“Any time off is good for you when you’re hurting. I’m gonna need a couple more days. I’m glad we got two weeks and we’re not playing this Sunday,” Ellerbe said. “If I had to, I could fight through it this Sunday. It’s the Super Bowl.”
Tight end Dennis Pitta returned to practice after missing Friday’s session with a thigh injury. Wide receiver David Reed has an injured hamstring and was the only other member of the Ravens to sit out Saturday’s practice.
