Well, I live in Winnipeg, I’m a season ticket holder of the Bombers, and I can say that Vega is only “pretty good”, certainly not dominant, or even the best defender on the team. Don’t expect much from this signing.

This is not a pressing issue for the Bombers either. They have a lot of work ahead of them, moving into the new stadium with, I think, three mediocre quarterbacks and not the greatest offensive weapons. I see the Bombers and Ticats struggling to avoid a western crossover in the playoffs again.

I think the Pats are pretty smart by hitting up the CFL. How long will it be before Trestman and the Bears start doing it? And in regards to the Pats not making the playoffs because they are no longer “cheating”, unless they leave the AFC east, they will be in the playoffs for a long time. I just see any SB wins

I live in Winnipeg and am a fan of the Blue Bombers. Good, cheap pickup for the Pats. Comparisons to Ninkovich aren’t necessarily accurate though. He’s more of a long, lean OLB/DE tweener type. Think a less athletic Aldon Smith and you’d get the picture. However, he is a high motor high effort player. He was certainly the only really consistent pass rush threat for the team the past couple seasons. As a run stuffer though, it might leave you less than impressed. Could be a nice situational guy for them though.

Actually, the Patriots almost always have an undrafted free agent who finds a starting roll. There are plenty of players who never get drafted. Some of these guys could have been great players, but never got the chance.

Last time I checked the Steelers missed the playoffs and there was nothing resembling greatness about them. Getting old and becoming the bottom team of the AFC North. Deal with it.

I’m always surprised the NFL doesn’t use the CFL as more of a feeder program. I’m sure there are plenty of CFL players that could help NFL teams.
