I despise the Cowboys. I thought my Eagles fleeced them when they traded their pick that got him for Kolb, Celek and Gaddis…. Man was i wrong on that one. The guy is a player. One of the few on the
Cowboys.
Hope they screw it up and we get a shot at him.

You may want to actually know what you are talking about before you say something to that effect. I agree with you on Roy Williams and ken Hamlin, but Austin, Spears, and Ratliff are one year wonder-type players?

Austin has averaged just under 8 TD’s a season the past 4 yrs. Ratliff played 16 games 4 out of his last 5 seasons, and as a undersized DT, he played pretty well. Spears never had a break out season, but contributed consistently and has been solid his entire career.

Spencer also has been very solid, and this year he really played well. No guarantee he will repeat it, but if they can re-sign him for a reasonable contract, I say he will play well yet again at DE, ESPECIALLY with two DT’s working the middle, leaving Spencer one on one to do his thing.

Time will tell, but I say keep him if the price is right.

I hope they do not sign this one year wonder. These type of players continue to burn the Cowboys (Ken Hamlin, Roy Williams, Miles Austin, Marcus Spears, & Ratliff).

We need spencer back at linebacker with lee n carter ware,ratliff,coleman n hatcher has decent speed for end n draft best end comn out n draft n we can have a good team if healthy

Funny how these guys play real well in a contract year isn’t it? Where has that been Spencer?

Ultimately I think another team will offer Spencer more money than Dallas is willing or able to pay him.

Obviously, grasshopper, you did not read my post about franchising Spencer for a second time yesterday. Please add 20% to the franchise tender of a DE and the let the nice people know how much it would cost to franchise Spencer.

If he is willing to take slightly less than his market value, I’d love to have him back next year. Although allegedly we’re already $18 million over the cap, so I don’t see how we can afford it anyways without some major cuts & restructuring. I think it’s likely he hits the open market and we’re forced to address end & outside linebacker in the draft.
