Getty ImagesSomewhere between splitting out as a wide receiver on the third play from scrimmage for the AFC and the midpoint of the first quarter, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt mangled a finger on his left hand.
In an interview with Michelle Tafoya during the first quarter of the Pro Bowl broadcast on NBC, Watt showed his injured left hand to the camera. Watt’s left pinky finger was bleeding profusely and had left stains all over his jersey. Watt told Tafoya he wasn’t sure how the injury happened.
Watt did make a point to send a message to commissioner Roger Goodell during the interview hoping he takes note that the players are playing harder this season.
Watt returned to the game on the AFC’s next defensive series.

Now the Texans have their excuse for going nowhere again next year…
Probably one of the few trying…what’s with Patriots not showing? Who wouldn’t want to be in Hawaii.?
Why use a DE on offense as a receiver. Seems a little far fetched from a real game of football. What next, AJ Green playing a little cornerback?
cancel the pro bowl now!! at halftime the players should say see yaa!!! this game is less than useless!!
@steveincinci does mike vrabel ring a bell? I think he caught a few TDs
I bet it happen when Watt lined up as WR. Texans coach will be ticked off about that move.
Watt played TE at Wisconsin, geniuses
Good Lord, JJ just can’t win with certain fans. You wouldn’t hate him if he were on your team. Have some objectivity would ya?!
Cancel the pro bowl. Nobody cares.
Oh, here we go… Cancel the Pro Bowl because JJ chipped a nail…
Watt played TE at Central Michigan, not at Wisconsin. Played only DE at Wisconsin
