Forget about hosting, if they do not organize the stadium for proper exits both teams & the fans will be stuck there well into the next season.

Seriously, I’ve never seen a more disorganized arena for traffic in my life.

It really shouldn’t matter. It’s the home stadium for both teams so there is probably 2 “home” locker rooms and an away one.

I can see teams not wanting other rival squads in the locker room, but there’s a way around that. Win.

The Patriots as well as the rest of the NFL don’t need any sort of advantage when facing the dumpster fire that is the Jets. Belichick and the Patriots own the Jets and will continue to own them until Brady and Belichick retire from the NFL and await their first ballot hall of fame inductions.

Has the NFL ever considered the possibility of letting the team with the better record host the Super Bowl? There would seem to be a fairness component to that scenario. Last year, for example, the Patriots were 13-3 while the Giants were only 9-7, and yes, technically the Patriots were the Super Bowl’s “home” team, but all that got them was the chance to play the game in Indianapolis, where there are probably about three people who don’t despise the Patriots. It seems like posting the better record ought to reward you with more than just the right to decide which uniforms (whites or colors) you wish to wear.

I’m sure it’ll never happen, as the league probably exacts a king’s ransom from the host cities, guaranteeing more revenue than if the game was played in, say, Pittsburgh. But I’m sure it’s not because it’s a logistical impossibility.

For the people who are confused… this is not about the locker rooms in the stadium (MetLife has more than enough of those anyway). This is about using the training facilities. If you’re the Giants, do you want the Redskins or Cowboys knowing your training facility layout/features, your video rooms, and other facilities that even the beat reporters can’t get into – when that team will play you twice a year after gaining that knowledge? “Hey, the Giants have the ability to do this during the week – we need to get one of those systems too!”

By flipping the conferences, the Jets and Giants would limit that exposure to a team they only play once every 4 years, not a team they may play 8 times in 4 years.

No one here is confused. This is a long-held tradition that’s part of the deal of hosting a Super Bowl. If Mara (or Johnson) had a problem with this part of hosting a Super Bowl he should have raised the issue prior to being awarded the game, a great honor that several cities in America would love to have. But no, he raises his childish objection at this 11th hour, at a time when it’s too late to change locations for next year’s Super Bowl.

What’s confusing is how the NFL Management Council could be so tilted in one team’s favor that a certain owner of an NFL team could have the balls to make such an absurd request. What’s confusing is why the NFL with its once great brand seems to want to become like professional wrestling.

If I were any afc or nfc team, it shouldn’t be too hard to find some guy in nyc to help with combing the place for hidden mics and camera that the giants or jets “accidently” left behind.

I am guessing that is the worry of the nyc teams, that teams will leave those things behind. Or, in the Jets cade, hoping some teams leaves a decent qb behind.

I’ll give you the Eagles but the Patriots are actually a pretty safe bet to be playing at Metlife Stadium next February.

Tom Brady has started and completed eleven seasons (remember in 2000 and 2008 he didn’t play) and in those eleven seasons the Patriots have made the Super Bowl five times, meaning every other year the Patriots at least make it to the Super Bowl. They didn’t this year so it’s a pretty good bet that as long as Brady stays healthy the Patriots will continue a trend that has endured for over ten years.

If the NFL had been smart enough to reverse the usage assignment in the first place, there would never have been a need to bring up the rival issue.

A good rule-of-thumb for the League going forward would be “you can’t fall into a hole if you don’t dig one”, because I have never seen one organization go through so many shovels as the NFL has this year alone.

There has to be something more significant happening in the world than this. And God knows these two teams have more to worry about next season than who might be using their locker rooms in February.
