I’m pretty sure owner aren’t making BILLIONS and if a player gets hurt! You made the call to pursue that profession. I would say your a bit better off then some veterans that come home with a missing arm our leg.

Flacco wins big games….He is an elite QB who can win in the stretch. Nobody deserves 20 mil per year, but in a big game who would you rather have Flacco or Peyton?

Flacco was asking for $17 Million per year last season, and Baltimore balked at that amount, because he hadn’t earned it with his inconsistent play.

He’s played well enough in the 2nd half to merit discussion at that $17 Million number…especially if he sees it through and wins the Super Bowl.

Even if this talk from the media about $20 Million per is coming from the Flacco camp, and not just speculation, that is their starting point for negotiation, not the name inked on a contract.

The fact is the Ravens are more than just a “solid team”. They have made the playoffs and won games in the playoffs for 5 straight years. A large part of the credit has to go to the QB. He was a dropped ball (perfect pass by the way) to reaching the SB last year and led his team on an improbable playoff run once again. The Ravens are in SB 47 because of Flacco, not in spite of him.

You remember the Lee Evans drop… ONE PLAY. You fail to remember how horribly Flacco played against a mediocre defense the entire first half and most of the 3rd quarter.

And while Flacco has played brilliantly these last 3 games… let’s not kid ourselves. The defense showed up and put a whooping on Peyton Manning’s Broncos. And they own Tom Brady even when he’s helped by the officials.

If it wasn’t for the Special Teams and Brendan “too concerned about gay marraige” Ayanbadejo giving up two return touchdowns against the Broncos… you can truly appreciate what the Ravens defense did to Peyton Manning’s offense. But you look like someone who only goes off stats, and doesn’t even realize what really happened in the games.

I’m a life long Ravens fan and I must let those of you who don’t watch them regularly that almost every bad thing you believe about Flacco is Cam Cameron. In my 18+ years as a football fan I have never seen anyone misuse their tools so completely or call more obvious plays. On offense the game is about deception and Cameron has sent more telegraphs in the past 5 years then the post office.

Ozzie is a pretty clever fellow. I figure they will franchise him then sign him down the line to a 17mil type contract. When the best offer he’d get elsewhere is probably 20 I doubt the difference will be enough for him to pack his bags for another city.

This is what the Ravens should do.

Franchise Flacco. Then hold a Flacco auction to the highest bidder.

Chiefs, Jets, Bills, Cards will all throw at least 1st rounders to the Ravens.

But here’s the key. Don’t ask for this year’s 1st rounder (this QB class sucks), but rather next year’s. Then sign an FA like Alex Smith to hold you over till next year for Johnny Football (you know all those teams will still suck with Flacco, so the Ravens will have two first rounder and one most likely in the top 5).

Done and Done.

Joe Flacco has some of the worst advanced stats in the league. I’m surprised on how many buffoons dont realize this dude’s passing rating comes from throwing 3 yard dumpoff passes to Ray Rice, and watching him run for 80. A QB, who gets outgunned by Charlie Batch at home while facing a 38 year old defense while both teams were still fighting for division title, is not worth $25 mil a year. No way, no how. Yes, ravens fans that is one game, but Flacco’s resume is full of duds like that. He is worth 12, give him 15 for the super bowl run.

Flacco’s a decent qb and has had alotta success in the playoffs but my main man Drew had what would normally be a career ending injury, signed with my Saints and turned one of the most snakebit teams in NFL history around and helped them win a superbowl, and rewrites the record book nearly every time he touches the field. Not to mention the work he did rebuilding New Orleans through his charity after Katrina. All Flacco has done is win a few playoff games and cry about the media. Better just take what you can get and be happy with it Joe lol……you ain’t no Drew Brees

If they give him that kind of money, Baltimore is going to have to cut, or let a lot of other free agents walk. They are already over the cap for next year. PIT and BAL, have really put themselves in terrible cap position, while Cleveland and Cincy have the most amount of cap space in the league. I see new tides rolling through.
