Ryan Clady needs shoulder surgery

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady, who is an impending free agent, will require surgery to repair a shoulder injury suffered in Denver’s regular season finale.

The injury is not expected to affect Clady’s availability for the season opener in 2013, but the surgery is extensive enough that Clady will miss “much” of the Broncos’ offseason program.

Despite the surgery, Klis calls Clady “certain” to be franchise tagged by the Broncos if the sides don’t come to a long-term contract agreement.

Clady dropped out of the Pro Bowl because of the injury. He has started all 80 games of his career, earning Pro Bowl trips in three of his five NFL seasons.

Clady is 26 years old.

  1. we need to get him locked down asap. Theres talk of Orlando Franklin moving inside from his RT. IDK how Zane Beadles made the pro bowl but we need power inside, in fact id swap them with Beadles having held the RT position for a bit and being effective. Koppen seems like a stop gap and its still to be determined if Chris Kuper will bounce back from his injury filled season. With Peyton gettin a year older and a year slower we need to fix our oline problems. They got dominated by the ravens which coulda been due to injuries but the point is Clady is our only olinemen thats indispensable.

  2. Hey joetoronto, I’m aware you’re the trolliest troll on the internet, but did you know that Manning led the Broncos to a 13-3 record and the AFC’s #1 seed in the playoffs? And that he is neck-and-neck (see what I did there?) with Adrian Peterson for league MVP?

If you’re going to troll at least suggest something that has a sliver of possible truth to it.
