I have to kind of agree with @dennisund calling Foles “underwhelming” is off the mark. He did a decent job with the “tools” at his disposal. Also, he took a beating as Vick did and kept on going. While not an Andrew Luck, Foles is not another Kolb or Feeley.

Please stop perpetuating the most idiotic myth in Super Bowl history. First of all, they lost by 4, so scoring a TD instead of a FG would have guaranteed nothing.

Secondly, because it was an 18-point game and not a 14-point game, the Steelers played a different defense than they otherwise would have as Dallas dressed the window in the last two and a half minutes of the game.

It’s sad what people think they know based on 5 second clips from NFL films.

Nick Foles underwhelming, eh? Author makes us Eagles fans look forgiving. He was a mid-round draft pick, played without 3 of their starting offensive linemen, a majority of their skill players, and posted a QB rating higher than the ‘seasoned’ Mike Vick, Andrew Luck, Ryan Tannehill, and equal to Matt Stafford, who had more skill around him to work with. I wouldn’t say he’s a star in the making, but saying he was underwhelming is just unfair.

I don’t see Vick returning to the Eagles and as such, it is time to let him go.

Due to the contract amount, his injury history, his reputation in general, and his inconsistency of performance, I think it’s delusional to think his contract has any trade value.

The Eagles need a fresh change.

They should do away with the midnight green uniforms, too. They represent the Andy Reid era. Go back to Kelly green or get something new altogether.

Watch Mike Vick play. No more productivity left. Beat up, slow a foot and of mind from beatings. He has the heart of a Lion and body not much bigger than D-Jax. Ever see them stand side by side in huddle ? Mike needs to save himself physically and the Birds move on. Get used to dumb Eagles statements from Chip. He is not in NCAA anymore.

Most of those sacks came from him holding the ball waiting for the wideouts to get open which is more of the coaches fault. The offense mainly went verticle and ran the ball every once in a while so the defense knew what was coming. Oh don’t forget the O-line was horrible.

As an outsider I say draft a development qb to run chips offense, geno smith would actually be great if they can trade down to say 10 and still grab him, and still keep Vick restructured for a year and use the CRAP out of him, he is the ultimate Kelly qb in theory, then dump him after next year, Vick has one more productive year especially in that offense

In 2012, Vick has been averaging 3.12 seconds to throw, longer than every quarterback except for Seahawks rookie Russell Wilson (3.14). The league average is 2.83 seconds. Tom Brady clocks in at 2.48; Peyton Manning goes 2.51.

It is crazy to me how fast the Birds have fallen. In 2010, I was harassed by Bird fans (not in a text ‘Bad Fan’ way) at the Stick laughing at how putrid my 9ers were that day and season. That was the “We Want Carr” game. I think the Eagles lost to the Packers in the playoffs that year in a very close game.

Now the Birds look up to the 9ers and want to emulate them; Bird fans wish they were 9er fans. Remember to enjoy the good times while you have them (instead of always crying for more); because in the NFL things can turn on a dime…

In related news, note that Vick’s roster bonus of $3M due on Monday, Feb 4, is fully eligible for offset.

This means while the Eagles will owe Vick $3M guaranteed on Monday, if he is subsequently traded or released and earns $3M+ this season with any team, the Eagles are off the hook for all of it.
