APThe Ravens and 49ers are the football teams getting all the attention in New Orleans this week, but the Saints are taking care of some business as well.
According to a report from WWL-TV, one item on their to-do list is to have safety Chad Jones in for a workout. Jones had his career derailed by a June 2010 car accident in New Orleans that left him with serious injuries to his left leg that led to some fear he would have difficulty walking again.
He worked diligently to eliminate that fear and kept working to try to return to the Giants, who had drafted him in the third round that year. Jones was never able to get back on the field, though, and the Giants waived him last May.
The prospect of Jones, who grew up in New Orleans and went to LSU, making a comeback with the Saints after three years trying to get back what he lost in the accident sounds like something Hollywood would dream up. It also makes it pretty easy to root for.

Best of luck to him! Hope he makes the team!
Good luck young man! After the accident you had it would be nice to see you return to any team. If football doesn’t work out you can always try baseball, if I remember correctly you were throwing 95-96 mph fastballs in the College World Series.
Couldn’t be rooting for this guy more!
I certainly am rooting for him to catch on with the Saints. But he could have a successful career in baseball. Chad Jones is just the type of player that the MLB could use right now.
He’s been knocking on doors, so to speak, for some time, his agent getting some media coverage for him this past year.
He worked out for the Eagles in December, didn’t pan out.
Now the hometown boy has a chance to workout for the Saints. I hope they can find a slot for him because who doesn’t love a comeback story like this.
Go chad go.
[Google him.]
Good Luck, but the Giants passed on him. They keep people around if they feel they will contribute. Guy was never able to make it back. Too bad the Giants wasted a 3rd round pick on him. We could’ve used him badly.
I thought even coming out of college this guy might make a better linebacker. Saw him a lot in college and where he does have speed and think some added time in the weight room and he could reinvent himself as he probably lost some step after the accident. Best of luck.
Hell yeah!
Anyone is better than Roman Harper so by all means, welcome!!
Jones was also a fine collegiate pitcher. Wonder if he ever considered trying that again since the accident?
Hope he is able to join the Saints! Good luck Chad…
Team him up with Ed reed and Jenkins…. Now that would be a pretty sight.
Would make for a nice story.hope he makes the team and takes them to a Superbowl.
Would be nice if he could come back – but sort of scarey- Gaints turned him loose for a reason, then he worked out for Eagles and didn’t see any reason to keep him. Must be something wrong with performance or x-rays of the leg that don’t look promising.
Possible Blind Side 2 in the making? What you think Hollywood………….Sandra Bullock plays the role of life coach?
Chad Jones best of luck in earning a roster spot next season!!!!!!!!
we’ve also got some kids from the st. jude’s pop warner team coming in for workouts. anything is better than what we’ve got right now. lol no jk, putting the hurtin on themmmm boiiii. haha 2013 saints defense bring the wood/go and get it
My Orioles could use you, too!
Good luck, Chad!
