He was found Not Guilty.

“Not Guilty” is FAR different from “innocent.”

If he was innocent, I suspect he would not have “lost” the critical evidence of his clothes from that evening.

I’m not sure what happened exactly (few people really do) but the “justice system” for Athletes and Celebrities is definitely NOT the same for ordinary citizens. Some degree of related criticism is a small baggage to carry when the legal system is skewed in your favor.

It’s not about celebrity, it’s about money. The smarter and more experienced the lawyer, the more they bill and smart experienced lawyers will find more ways to keep someone out of jail than a public defender. If you can’t afford a good lawyer, you are screwed. It’s just the way it is.

One thing this message board shows is that when it comes to sports, people lose all common sense and put their blinders on. It’s too bad we can’t all have more respect for one another instead of just hating or loving someone solely because they are a Raven or Steeler and looking at the man as a human being. No one is perfect and Ray has made his share of mistakes. But the case went to Court, charges were dropped against him because there was no evidence that he had anything to do with the murder, and the co-defendants were acquitted by a jury. Yet here we sit 13 years later still talking about. I can’t wait until the HOF induction in 5 years so we can rehash this again.

As for his son, it’s a shame his children are being exposed to this. However, anyone with a twitter or facebook account is going to need to learn to have thick skin. There are far too many people in America who have too much time on their hands, and nothing better to do than taunt, belittle and ridicule others, with no risk of recourse.

No personal offense meant here, but I find it interesting that a Steelers fan, whose account is actually named after a player who was twice investigated for rape, is commenting on the character of players and fans of another team. I am not even a Ravens fan but … come on, man! Really?

It’s pretty immature and useless to taunt someone for something that their parents were accused of. Would you like having whatever things your parents or other ancestors might have done constantly thrown in your face as if you had something to do with it?
