Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill was arrested Tuesday for a domestic violence incident in the Seattle suburb of Issaquah, Wash.
The arrest was first reported by Mike Ferreri of KOMO-TV in Seattle. Per Ferreri, Hill has not yet been formally charged.
The arrest was for two domestic violence infractions. Hill was arrested for fourth-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment. The assault would be a gross misdemeanor while the unlawful imprisonment would be a Class C felony charge in Washington state. The latter would carry a sentence of up to five years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000 if Hill is charged and convicted.
It’s the latest in a series of off-field incidents for Hill. It’s the second time Hill has been arrested for domestic violence in the past four years. Hill was arrested in April 2010 on investigation of domestic violence after an incident with his girlfriend. The charge was ultimately dismissed after Hill agreed to enroll in a domestic violence treatment program.
Hill has also been arrested twice on marijuana-related offenses. Hill fell asleep at the wheel of his car in Atlanta while at a stop light. He was suspended one game by the league. Hill was arrested again in Atlanta last February on a marijuana charge that was later dropped.
Hill played in 13 games for Seattle this season and recorded 47 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Hill is scheduled to become a free agent next month. Now he’ll have to worry about more than just where he’ll be suiting up next season.
