APOn Thursday morning, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said that the 49ers were coming off a perfect Wednesday practice, and he wanted an exact duplicate of that later in the day. On Thursday afternoon, Harbaugh said his players had exceeded his expectations.
“I thought yesterday was outstanding, but today was a photo copy of that,” Harbaugh told pool reporter John Clayton after Thursday’s practice. “In some ways, it was maybe a little better. I’m real pleased, real pleased.”
The 49ers did about 70 minutes of work on the Saints’ outdoor practice field and then 30 more minutes in the Saints’ indoor facility. The indoor work included kicker David Akers making all his field goal attempts while his teammates were yelling and making noise to try to distract him.
“That’s the first time they ever have done that in two years,” Harbaugh said of the noise. “David made all of them, which was even better. His mechanics are real good. That bodes well. Good things will happen for us in that area.”
If the 49ers play as well as they’re practicing, good things will happen in the Super Bowl.

Uh oh … that’s the Kiss of Death.
Ummm, Jim, I know you are very obnoxious and all. But you really should wait until after the game and see if you win first before raving about how well your team practiced.
When you lose, your just setting your team up for potshots and ridicule.
But I can not think of a bigger Ahole to ridicule so by all means, please keep it up.
Don’t jinx it, Jim. I recall you said after consecutive shutouts that the only thing to worry about was that there was nothing to worry about. A 26-3 loss later, there was plenty to worry about.
Lets do this.

I’m sure Fassel’s G-Men were similarly thrilled by their 41-0 beatdown of the Vikes in the January ’01 NFCCG. How did that Super Bowl work out?
Intert Allen Iverson quote here…
Nothing wrong with what he said…he was asked a question. Furthermore I heard they moved indoors because there was some hobbit in the distance with a cutoff hoodie and a video camera.
Any more positive stuff the media wants to put out for San Fran? The media is relentlessly attacking Baltimore. We don’t care though. That’s the way we like it. Go Ray Ray and Go Ravens!
Oh to be young and buy all of this hype…….
BALTIMORE loves Ray Lewis!
It’s simple folks, keep the spotlight OFF the players, keep it on him and the pressure stays with him – he’s experienced at this folks, he knows what he’s doing, whether they win it or not….

Yeah? Wait until it really counts. Then we’ll see.
It would be silly of him to rave about how bad his team looks right now.
Ravens trounce 49ners
A great practice doesn’t guarantee a great game. I have had a great practice round on the driving range and then played some really crappy golf …just saying
Niners will roll on Sunday….
People ridiculed him when he said crabs has the best hands he has ever seen, and now crab is catching everything.
People ridiculed him when he went with colin… And now theyre in the superbowl.
You all can hate on the man as much as you want but he speaks the truth. Haters act like what he says is so belligerent and out there, and he has shut you guys up time and time again. #justsayin
Niners- 41 Ravens 27
Go Niners #6
practice? you wanna talk about practice?
I’m pretty sure Jim Harbaughs knows what he’s talkin about. especially if he’s talkin bout practice. he sees em practice every week, week in & week out. its our time to shine again. #NinerNation # NinerGang
Practice!? We’re talking about practice!!??!?
We’re talking about practice.
I smell Norwood
It’s all downhill from the apex of “perfect.”
Must be nice to have good practice facilities down there as oppossed to your brother who is forced to practice on a baseball field and spending valuable practice time moving back and forth from Tulane to the Superdome complex. Yea it’s pretty fair.
I remember stories of the 94 Niners saying the ball never hit the ground once in preparation the week before..Turned out pretty well for them.
Look out Ravens. If the team that played the first half in New England, it could be a long day.
Akers could haunt the city of Frisco by Monday morning.
