Using Amani's logic there are no mean of God. We all fall short, no single person is perfect and there is no different levels of sin in the eyes of God. Stealing a pack of Game is the same as Murder to God. In fact judging is a sin, which is what Amani and several of you are doing. Let him without sin throw the first stone, there should be no stones being lobbed. None of us were there when the Murders took place and no not what happened, though it doesn't stop you from acting as if you do. Whatever he has done or hasn't done, the man he is now is inspirational and doing a good work. So I hope all of you are blessed and walking in your Godly purpose, and do not let the devil make you think that your transgression make you any less to God, he can still use you.

Ray's problem is that he's just gotten two weeks in front of the camera. He's a lot of fun in small doses. In large doses he's exhausting. He seems to do a lot of good for the community and his team, but his basic assertion that they are winning because God loves him more than Peyton Manning or Tom Brady is problematic. I have trouble picturing Jesus doing the Ray Lewis dance.

Ray is basically unrepentant in public, refusing to either explain either what happened that night in Atlanta or the content of his phone conversation with the guy hawking deer antler spray. Ray's message seems to be that he is above all that because he is God's chosen one. I'm sure God does love him, but I'm not at all sure God approves of his behavior. I'm no better than Ray, but at least I know that...

Standing by and doing nothing, is almost as bad as committing the crime. Normally when you see someone who has done something in their life that they are not proud of, Drunk Driving, Shoplifting, Alcohol/Drug Abuse, Domestic Abuse, etc.. Those people speak loud and clear about their discretion. What better way to show people the error of your ways, and to steer them clear of the same mistakes you have made? Yet Ray Lewis continually ducks the events that night as if it were the plague. In every single motivational speech he gives, that night in New Orleans, should be topic number 1. He should be using that story as his top motivational tool to steer young kids from hanging out with the wrong crowd, about standing your ground and doing the right thing even when people you are hanging out with have done something heinous like murder. Imagine the honorable man Ray could have been had he done the right thing and called 911 and getting the Police and an Ambulance on the scene immediately. Perhaps those 2 men would still be alive.

Perhaps instead of dedicating the game to god or to himself, he should consider dedicating it to the deaths of 2 men that he was, to an extent we'll probably never know, responsible for.
I just re watched the 2001 super bowl. There's a great play where Toomer is supposed to run a route over in the middle of the field. He sees Ray, pulls up and slowly jogs while Ray tips the ball and it is intercepted.

I would probably be bitter too if someone took my manhood like that. Not just beat but embarrassed. I can't blame him for still being upset.

Hey Toomer,

Go pull the film you jerk. NFL Network aired it two nights ago.

Ray didn't go out on that field on his own; John Harbaugh told him to go out there and you can clearly hear his instruction on the film.

Ray didn't do it for himself; John had him do it for all of the fans in the stands who have supported this team since 1996.

We here in Baltimore know how painful it is to lose your team and heritage. John Harbaugh gave each of us a moment to treasure and how important it was for us as fans to show our appreciation for a man who gave it all on the field.

Honestly reading what was said about Ray Lewis by Mr. Toomer, it is said. Regardless of what he did twelve years ago, he has changed his life and became the person that he is today. If you or anyone can show me an individual that is religious that past life is perfect. As far as Lewis going on the field on the last play of the last game at home for him is a complete honor. If Mr. Toomer was loved or even respected by ONE team as long as Ray was he would of had the same honors. Bottom line, Amani, you dont need to be a hater to be heard.

Steelers fan that lives in Baltimore here.

Ray Lewis is to Balitmore as Rocky is to Philly, as RoboCop is to Detroit, as Godzilla is to Japan...He is larger than life. He is the face of that entire organization! and rightfully so. his personality and passion is just who he is and the fans love it.

I for one love Ray Lewis. I am fully aware of his past. Call me whatever you want. Ray is a gamer, one of the best ever. I don't know if he committed those crimes or not. you can easily say he did or didn't. In the court of law, he wasn't found guilty of murder. If that isn't good enough for you, i don't know what to tell you.

Maybe that experience made him become a better men. He realized the right path in life and pursued it. How many people turn to religion after an unfortunate accident or hardship? Ray has done a lot of good with his life since then.

Amani can say whatever he wants. He doesn't live in baltimore. he doesn't know what it's like here. Ray in the victory formation doing his dance was the perfect exclamation point for his last home game of his awesome HOF career.

I may not agree with the Raven's fans all that much, but I do agree that Ray Lewis is the man. If you are from the outside looking in, you wouldn't know. Fortunately I live in Baltimore and fully understand what ray is to this town.

Go steelers! (next year that is, have a good draft)

Haters will hate. It is what they are here to do. Ray shut them up 13 years ago with a MVP...he will do it again this Sunday.

Besides, who cares what happened then? This is about now. He beat that and moved on. Why can't some of you guys?

I am sure you are the same group who says OJ did it, regardless of what a court of peers says. Judgement is reserved for the Lord, not you nobodies.

Go Ravens!

Judgement is reserved for the Lord. All of you who don't know what happened surely have alot of hate and judgement in you. I personally know Ray Lewis, and I can tell you he is a true believer in God and that situation 13 years ago was a massive wake up call for him. He was found not guilty, so let it go people.

He went from incarcerated to super bowl MVP inside one year. That is clearly God working.

He will go down in history as the greatest LB to play the game. Like it or not. Toomer is just a washed up hater.

Ray didn't kill anyone. Maybe he knows who did, maybe he does not. but HE didn't do it, so all of you with you court of public opinion need to put some steel around your own glass houses.

Go Ravens! Go Ray Lewis. I hope you cap your career with MVP again. Make the haters sick this Sunday.

Its amazing how people always want to focus on the negative. Amanni Toomer sounds bitter and ridiculous. Nobody in life is perfect. I cant wait for this game to get played so everything shakes out as it should.

1. Ravens win the Superbowl
2. Ray Lewis will go down as the greatest LB of all time and one of the most inspirational men in the world.
3. All the haters will hate us garbage spewing, uneducated, band wagon jumping Raven fans even more.

Ravens win by 17… Ray Lewis Superbowl MVP.

I mentioned ignorance in a previous post and now brentfarve seems to think that he needs to prove my point. He's made a valiant effort with his ignorant post above.

I partially agree with #2 - Ray Lewis will go down on Sunday, but it won't be as the greatest LB of all time. That title is held by one of two Bears; Dick Butkus or Mike Singletary with Jack Lambert, LT, Jr. Seau & Ray Nitschke close behind and all ahead of Ray. Ray might be one of the top seven LB's of all time, but he’s been a liability in pass coverage for several seasons and only marginally effective in other aspects. While I'm not a big fan of the look at me first Lewis, I hope his injury on Sunday isn't serious.
