cruz deserves top 10 wr money..prob top 7 but not top 5 i wouldnt pay him top 5 money and im a huge giants / cruz supporter he reminds me of wes welker great route runner adn shifty but doesnt have that fitz, moss, calvin, andre johnson terrell owens ability..obviously

Tired of these players not honoring their contracts. And don’t you player butt-kissers come back with that lame argument about the owners not honoring theirs when they cut a player, etc. THAT RIGHT is in the player’s contract, and the team (who pays the salary) can exercise it anytime they want. Don’t like that clause? Then DON’T SIGN the contract…and don’t play football. There should be serious penalties for players who hold out.

Your understanding of NFL contracts is a bit off. Theoretically, every NFL contract is a 0ne-year contract for the guaranteed money with a series of one-year team options at the designated base salary.

East example, suppose I sign a 5-year $25M contract with a $10 million bonus/guarantee. What I really have is a one-year contract for $10 million, and the team has four one-year options to extend the contract at the base salary designated in the contract. Bottom line is, once the team pays you your guaranteed money, it has fulfilled the contract regardless of when it cuts you.

They usually harm their own career.

If they take care of the money they already have, they’ll be farther ahead of guys making twice as much in most cases.

More isn’t always better.

Newsflash Cruz played out his contract. He is a Restricted Free Agent. I havent heard him say anything about holding out. Giants need to get a deal done with this guy……Nicks need to say healthy, and I think Greg Jennings should get a call from the Giants front office as well

I’m quite sure if the Giants were in a better cap position, this wouldn’t be happening. As it were, they have over 20 UFA’s/RFA’s to contend with, and the last time I checked, they were 4.7 mil over the limit. It’s going to take some releases and some restructures before they can give Vic what he deserves. Until then, this is a complete non-story, folks.
