Looks like the NFL ignored his criminal history. He assaults a police officer, resists arrest & commits perjury in the court of law. Most people would go to prison for doing all 3 but instead Adrian Peterson wins an MVP.

It’s VERY hard to win a championship!! Jim Brown only won 1! Was HIS career wasted?? NOPE! He’s still the standard by which other backs are measured. It’s possible that AP will surpass Brown.

But you have to remember that Brown played 3 seasons with a 12 game season and the other 6 with 14 games season. IN 1963, Brown ran for 1863 yds in a 14 game season, averaging 6.4yds per carry!

Adrian Peterson will get his just due if he stays healthy and keeps performing. He’s the best Ive seen in a very long time. But as a RB, he cant carry his team to a championship because there are too many other variables!

There is no doubt that after making the playoffs, AP is the only player to stand out as most valuable. Without him Vikings go 2-14. With a better passing game and slightly better defense Vikings go to the NFC Champ game.

He is a game changer.

Well deserved MVP. I’m very glad they didn’t go “co-mvp” on this one. Those are boring.

My definition of MVP is pretty simple. Who is the best player at each position? Now how much better are they compared to an average player at the position?

That might sound confusing but I measure greatness compared to average-ness and there is no doubt in my mind that if Peyton/Moreno and Adrian/Ponder changed teams that the Broncos would have been better this year than they were.

But Peyton is awesome too! Too bad we couldn’t have gotten them on the same team!

Logicalvoice – not sure if you are a basement boy internet troll or just a complete fool. Comparing Alfred Morris to AD is like compairing Alex Smith to Joe Montana. There is literally ZERO logic in your argument.

Oh and by the way the doctor that opened up Adrian’s leg said his knee looked like a new born’s. Peterson has never been accused of PEDs, just a great specimen. Morris is more likely to be on Deer Antler spray than AD idiot.

The way I looked at the Peterson/Manning debate was that Comeback Player of the Year implies that the player either had a bad season or missed most or all of the previous season, neither of which were true for Peterson in ’11, despite the amazing medical comeback.

If I’m not mistakened, the Vikings passing offense ranked 32nd in the league at year’s end. In other words, opposing defenses lined up knowing they had to stop AD, and 10 teams couldn’t do it (or be too successful against the Vikings’ D, props to them too). If that’s not MVP material, I don’t know what is. Glad the voters saw it the same way, congrats to Adrian.

I have been an NFL fan for over 45 years. I loved the NFL game so much that I sold my company 15 years ago and started another business selling pro sports related merchandise. I am a Vikings fan but I watch any NFL game and have for 45 years.

Trust when I tell you that you are watching the greatest RB of all time.

Well deserved, AD is a beast amongst men, anyone who can comeback from the injury he had and put up these kind of numbers deserves the award. That being said Manning also coming back from his neck injury as he did would have been just as worthy. Too bad they couldnt have made it a Co-MVP between the two. Peterson will go down as the greatest running back in the modern era if he continues to put up similar numbers for the newxt few seasons.

Disclaimer: Not a Vikings fan, but I don’t hate ‘em either. On the other hand, AD is my favorite player in the league. Tough as nails, runs with hate and malice but is somehow still smooth as silk. It’s cliche to say this now, but AD is not human. To recover from that injury and come back and dominate the NFL is sick. Lord help the rest of the NFC if AD works as hard this off season as he did last.

I like to judge the MVP based on the latter half of the season and especially, weeks 14-17, which are the playoff weeks for everybody. The fact is if you were an AP owner, you enjoyed those weeks. You probably weren’t a fan when he didn’t have that many yards in Week 16 when most leagues have their Super Bowls but at least you got there. And if you were in a 17-week league, I’m sure if you were an AP owner, you were enjoying your championship (so long as the rest of your team did their part). So congratulations, AP and congratulations to those who had him on their teams.

What is ironic is the juxtaposition of the best RB in the NFL playing for most inept franchise in the NFL.

I wonder what he thinks watching a Superbowl knowing his franchise will never make it there with Mr. Noodle Arm at QB?
