Gee, imagine that, an anti saints stance on a saints article gets thumbs down!

Haterade is a term used by people who know they have lost an argument.

vegasvinnie – with your explanation and subsequent defense of the Saints, one could easily argue that Roger Goodell was hell-bent to destroy each franchise in the NFL. Yes, that hit on Warner was cheap and malicious. No one is going to be able to argue with me on that, along with those late hits on Favre. Also, players aren’t going to come to Goodell’s defense because they all hate him. Otherwise, you can bet they all have their own plans to lay out Brees, Vilma, and Smith in 2013 – no matter which team they are on. Finally to your point about producing less than one percent of evidence, you are forgetting that that NFL proved there was a bounty program in place and that the players were guilty of going along with the coaches orders and that their bosses (Payton and Loomis) failed to stop it after being warned to knock it off. The only thing Goodell didn’t do was name the correct players (two of whom are former Vikings players), which resulted in former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue vacating all player suspensions. For your sake and everyone else, I suggest staying away from Bourbon Street.
===================================

So, the hit on Warner was cheap and malicious, was it? Exactly what was wrong with it? See if you can HONESTLY answer yes to any of the following questions:
Was Warner hit from behind?
Did McCray go after his head or his knees?
Did McCray lead with his head?
Was Warner hit after the play was over?
Was McCray flagged on the play?
Did Ken Wisenhut, Kurt Warner or any of the Cardinals accuse the Saints of playing dirty and try to exact revenge on Brees or any of the Saints?

3 up and 20 down indicates that plenty of people would argue with you...and they'd be right!

Opponents had plenty of chances to target Vilma, Smith and especially Brees this past season. Funny how none of that came to pass. Obviously, they know more than you do, not that it's saying much.

So, what does it say for Goodell and the NFL's investigation if they can't even name the right accused players involved? Hell, one piece of evidence focused on Scott Fujita and his actions with the Saints during the 2010 season. Forget the fact that Fujita left the Saints after Super Bowl 44 and played with the Browns in 2010. You can't make this stuff up.

Keep drinking the haterade :)

Oh really? Well then why hasn't Goodell done the same thing to the Patriots or Giants?

And also, if there never was a bounty system, why didn't Sean Payton and Gregg Williams just deny it from the beginning when all this first broke out?

every team but 1 will feel that way Drew. The new era begins when your team admits it’s mistakes that we all know about already, and that you guys can put that behind you with peace of mind, otherwise the monkey stays on your back.

Saints don't have to admit anything. They paid the price, whether they agreed they agreed with the sanctions or not.

Also, reasonable Saints fans disagree with the severity of the penalties. They do not think Goodel torpedoed the Saints for some conspiratorial reason.

Larryjames: the 2012 Saints had one of, if not the, worst defenses in the history of organized football. Sean Payton (and his 1 trophy) wouldn't have been able to fix that midsession. Especially when you realize the Saints defense was just as much about not having much talent on defense asit was abut coaching, it'll take a. Coaching change and acquiring better players to do that...but at least the Saints are doing that by switching to a scheme they don't have the parts for!

And can we quit talking about the Saints Super Bowl "runs" already? You've played in ONE! The Steelers have won as many Super Bowls as you have playoff games in your history! 6 playoff wins in 6 decades played in IS NOT an impressive feat!

Yes Roger Goodell shut the New Orleans Saints down with a makeup bounty scandal that didn't have enough evidences to convict the organization. Its all about the money, Roger Goodell knew that Sean Payton in 2012 would have put the New Orleans Saints the Super Bowl believe it or not. kattykathy: Goodell wanted to destroy the Saints? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Goodell was in charge of making sure the Saints got all the positive PR coverage post-Katrina. It was the refs (with Goodell watching) that overlooked cheap, malicious hits on Favre and Warner in the playoffs. It was the refs (again with Goodell watching) who allowed bad and questionable calls against opposing teams to stand. It was Goodell who also continued the post-Katrina PR heading into the Super Bowl and then the following season. Stop attempting to revise history. The reason I am hating is because the Saints milked this tragedy, broke the rules, lied about it, and then played the victim card. It was like watching a crooked politician play the victim card after getting his or her hand in the cookie jar again and again. Besides, Saints players had it coming this season the the “us against the world” mentality and they failed miserably. Teams know what they did and you can bet they’ll be going after every Saints player that takes the field. You reap what you sow.

===================================

I don't for a minute think that Goodell purposely torpedoed the Saints season. However, ripping a fan over Goodell while you whine about noncalls from a game 3 years ago makes you look just as foolish. On that note however, exactly what was the cheap shot on Warner? Are you talking about the McCray hit that Warner himself said was legal? Keep reaching, you're coming up with nothing here.

So, the Saints lied, did they? Let's review, shall we? Who said that they had upwards of 50,000 pages of evidence, yet produced less than 1% of it? Flawed, easily debunked evidence, no less. Who stated that upwards of 20 - 22 players were involved, yet named only 4? Who publicly called out Jonathan Vilma and was sapped down in court? Who had his predecessor come in and basically say that there was a lack of evidence and that he horribly bungled the investigation and the punishments? Who produced a video where they couldn't even decide who said what on it?

You can't answer The Saints to any of the above questions, can you? I didn't think so.

So, if other teams and players "know what the Saints did" why haven't any of THEM spoken out?

You seem to be far better at asking questions than providing answers. You should work for Goodell.

All the fans of loser teams hate the successful teams. The Saints will be back to winning 10 plus games every year and making a run at the Super Bowl starting in 2013. Just get over it and this bounty thing was just a chance for King Rog to show his 'concern' for player safety.
Nothing more but the slurpers sure gobbled it all up

I'm so sick of all the people who say that Godell had it out for the Saints and that he didn't want to see them succeed. That's like saying after you get a DUI, that the police department "had it out for you, and didn't want you to succeed in life". Quit your crying already. Admitting your failures and moving on is the first step to a word which most of your players have none of (INTEGRETY). I Bet Godell also had it out for you when he personally donated money and gave the City and team unpresedented support to your city after Katrina. You Saint fans are starting to make me sick.
