At a time when it seemed as if the Hall of Fame voters would need more time in order to finalize the latest Hall of Fame class, they got it done. In the nick of time.

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, one of the 46 voters, has said on Twitter that the meeting is over and that a class of Hall of Famers has been determined.

Previously, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News suggested that the expected announcement at 5:30 p.m. ET possibly would be delayed.

The work began at 8:30 a.m. ET, and Darin Gantt (who has one of the votes) told me last night that he expected the process to take roughly nine hours.

Gantt was right. Now, we play the waiting game.
