Cromartie says Jets need to add game changers on offense

Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie is the latest to weigh in on what’s wrong with the team’s offense.

Cromartie was one of the few Jets who made the trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl media appearances (after spending a season in a circus of a locker room, most of them wanted to avoid the circus that is Radio Row), and he said it’s time for the Jets to put together an offense that can threaten opposing defenses.

“A lot of people look at our offense [and] they’re not intimidated by our offense,” Cromartie told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “We need some guys on the outside that can be game changers. . . . It’s going to help having Santonio [Holmes] back, but I think we also need a true No. 2 guy also ready to go.”

Considering that Cromartie thinks he’s the second-best receiver on the team, it’s not surprising that he thinks the Jets need a new No. 2 receiver.

It would also help if the Jets had a better quarterback throwing to that new No. 2 receiver, but Cromartie wisely avoided getting into that.

Now, there are two words I NEVER thought I would see paired in ANY article: “Cromarti” and “wisely!”

    What a profound statement.

Jets should make Cromartie OC and GM.

This is why I love the fact that the Jets suck now and why they will continue to suck going forward.. Guys like Cromartie yapping about what a team needs.. Hey Cromartie maybe the Jets need some playmakers on D starting with u… Cromartie couldn’t cover Brian Hartline or Devone Bess and their 2nd and 3rd WR’s.. Lol Cromartie is a joke and so are the Jets!!!!!

In essence he means they need a QB, which they haven’t had since they got Sanchez. I’m afraid they will start the season with him, and he’ll quickly play himself out of the position. Then what? …. it’ll get ugly quick, the Jet fans have had all they can take of Sanchez.

Oh thank God. I thought Super Bowl Sunday wasn’t going to be about the Jets for a minute there.

Having an offense with no quarterback is a game changer isn’t it? They’re on the cutting edge, nobody else is trying it!

Jets are going to reach for a QB in the draft and gonna end up with another Sanchez.

They need a QB. I have no idea what pictures of who Sanchez has, but they need to move on. The guy isnt a winner. Untill that happens, whats the point of getting playmakers for a QB that cant make plays?

Cromartie sounds like he wants to be a coach and he maybe one of the few in that organization who has some sense.

Jets have Sanchez, who in my opinion, is a game changer…just not the good kind.

The man is brilliant. What an observation. I bet nobody ever thought about that.

Jets need a whole new offense. Start with the line This year. Don’t reach for a QB, as they did in 2009. If no QB worthy, don’t draft one in any round.

Rather build the pieces for the right guy. If that means Jets suck next year, good. Just in time for Johnny Football next year.

this is a profound statement? how is this even slightly practical? a team who is millions of dollars over the salary cap, financially strapped to a bottom rung qb, and a makeshift GM is going to get offensive “game changers”? id guess any one of cromarties 85 kids he can’t remember is smarter than him.

A Dolphin fan talking about character. How about Dan Marino?
