I’m not sure if the Redskins run the pistol with RGIII if Tebow didn’t show it can be done successfully in the NFL. Sure they still would have drafted RGIII but I think they would have tried to use him in a more traditional manner if they hadn’t already seen that the pistol/read option stuff could be successful in the NFL. Maybe Jim Harbaugh would have done it anyways with Kaepernick but I believe Jim was even more convinced that it could work in the NFL after seeing what Tebow did last year. Does Russell Wilson get to start over Matt Flynn if Pete Carroll doesn’t think the read option stuff can work in the NFL? I’m not sure.

I’d put that more on Cam Newton than Tim Tebow. Even though the Broncos won games, they consistently struggled on offense. Newton & the Panthers showed that you could run the read option and still have a passing game. RG3 and the Redskins are just doing a better job of it right now.

Watch the Cardinals. The new coach describes what he wants in a QB, and it basically describes Tebow:

“That’s the grit,” Arians said. “When they step in a huddle, the other 10 guys, whatever comes out of his mouth, they believe is going to work. “That doesn’t mean he’s the most talented player in the world but a guy that has leadership, grit, he’s going to do whatever it takes for his football team to win, as tough as nails, that the guys will follow him into a fire.

You can’t say that everyone that doesn’t fit the prototype is like Flutie. Tebow can’t throw, Flutie can. The only similarity is the fact that they don’t fit that mold, that’s it.

In December the Jets benched Sanchez and passed over Tebow to play the flat-out scrub Mcelroy. And now they think Tebow might have trade value? Have to be the dumbest team in the NFL.

I feel certain TT will have a lucrative career on the lecture/snake oil circuit when he gets out of football.

He seems to be a nice kid, but there doesn’t seem to be a niche for a person with his skills/lack of skills in the NFL.

I find it amazing how much attention this circus gets. Why would any team want to bring in someone they know is a bad teammate?
Are his 39 passing yards really that valuable?
When Doug Flutie was stabbing the starting QB in the back at least he performed when he got his chance.
Bottom line, if Tebow was an athiest, or a Muslim he’d be out of the league already. Judge him for his football skills.

PS: To all those who say he’d be a probowl TE or FB. What makes you think that? Have you seen tons of game tape of him getting off the line after down blocking a DE then catching a pass or blowing up a LB on a blitz pick-up or do you just like how he looks with his shirt off?

For all of you that say that this team or that team should trade for him as a back up, don’t forget the divisiveness that comes with him when he starts with his “I’m a starting Quarterback” crap. And whether they believe it or not, you know the press would eat that up (just to stir the controversy). Before ANY team even considered trading for him, they would be smart to make clear who their starting QB is. Even then, I wouldn’t want to subject any team I follow to this circus.

He would be the perfect back up QB in Pittsburgh. He could really improve their red zone offense. I am not saying that he could be Big Ben’s future replacement, but the Steelers need to get younger at backup QB until they find a real replacement for Ben when the time comes.

The Jets already placed a value on Tebow by how they treated him. Basicly, if Jets, who need a QB bad, wouldn’t play him since they throught he was that bad – why the HECK would anyone else see value in him?

For marketing??? For the circus that comes to town? Jets made their bed on this, and now they will sleep in it. NO ONE WILL TRADE FOR TEBOW, but they will sign him to see if he can been a quality back-up.

Trade Smith for Tebow. Tebow could back up Kaep, (same style) and Harbaugh could work with Tebow on passing, since he is a former QB and likes to throw in the practices. Both of these guys have gotten screwed. But I almost hate to send poor Smith to the Jets…..wouldn’t want any of my favorites having to land there right now.

if I were Tebow I would retire before I switched positions. he proved he could win in denver without the support of his coach and gm. all he needs is someone to give him a real shot and if they aren’t going to well they they know my number if I am him. he is better than half the backups in the league so why should he change.
