Niners start with a three and out

It looked like the San Francisco offense would commence Super Bowl XLVII by carving up the Baltimore defense, once quarterback Colin Kaepernick found tight end Vernon Davis for a 20-yard pass on the first offensive snap.

But a yellow flag sitting at the 22 became an illegal formation penalty, wiping out the gain.

With a first and 15, the 49ers did nothing in three plays after the infraction.  No gain on a running play, an incomplete sideline pass to tight end Delanie Walker, and another run on third and 15 that gained only three.

And the Ravens already are driving.

Only one team deserves six and the football gods realize this.

looked like nerves. BTW, what was up with the national anthem? Nice voice but she butchered it. It’s like singing you favorite songs to the tune of happy birthday…not the same.
