No riots in San Fran, minor issues in Baltimore

x350-1 Reuters

Given the aftermath of the Giants’ World Series win, there was concern that — win or lose — folks in San Francisco would take to the street and create mischief and mayhem.

Fortunately, there were no public displays of unrest after the 49ers lost a game that some insist was influenced by a bad non-call on a pivotal fourth-and-goal play late in the game.

In Baltimore, fans of the winning team reportedly tried to flip a car, and there were claims of looting at a 7-11.  Riot police also were brought in on horseback to control the crowd.

Still, it appears that, for the most part, everyone behaved.  Which is a good thing.

If they did riot in SF … I’m sure they’d have an excuse. Because we know they’re the best rioters.

As someone living in the Bay Area, I’m so surprised of this. I honestly thought SF would be in flames this morning. I’m glad people remembered it was a game and didn’t go out and destroy people’s private property.

Every time San Fran is involved in a game someone gets beat up, shot, stabbed, or otherwise killed.

Just give it a couple more hours, I’m sure a body will pop up.

I think that some looting and car destruction in Baltimore is just what happens on Sunday night, regardless of whether there is a Ravens game.

Please pivotal fourth down call was blown costing the 49ers the game!? You should feel lucky the power went off for 40 minutes so you could get back IN the game. Ravens were DESTROYING the 49ers.

Say what you want but nothing happened when the Saints won the Super Bowl. Why people riot over a sports team winning is beyond me. Saints won everyone partied but no dumb stuff.

Jim Harbaugh acts like an infant when things don’t go his way. He would have been the only one that started a riot over losing the game.

It’s Baltimore. There’s nothing to loot. Besides, even if they did riot, how could you tell?
