“The wrong side of 30″? He just turned 30 in October. And with the entire off season to rehab and heal in time for training camp, who are you to say he won’t be 100% again?

SUPER BOWL CHAMPS

Yup. For all intents and purposes, he will be 31 the next time he plays a meaninful football game. Maybe he recovers from the injury and is an effective player. I hope he does because I think he is a great player when healthy. However, the top teams stay on top by parting ways with guys at the right time. I'm just saying the Ravens will be taking a serious risk if they give the guy big money. There are only so many salary cap dollars to spend.

Not worried because of the way this front office is run. Plenty of players for this team have restructured contracts and taken temporary pay cuts to help the team stay competitive. Will the Ravens lose some guys in the next month or so? Very likely, its looking as though they'll likely only be able to resign one of the players between Reed, Kruger, and Ellerbe. But Pat Moriarty is one of the best cap managers in the league and we all know the Wizard of Oz always comes through as well. It will be very hard for the Ravens to repeat, but I fully expect that they will be contenders again this year.

It's not like it's news to us. Suggs has several more strong seasons in him. Not much was expected this season and it's all been gravy!!! We plan and have back up plans thus we're competitive each year and it has paid off! We'll take care of this issue, sign Flacco, keep who we can, release those as necessary and allow others to make bigger money elsewhere and love them just the same for being a part of this championship team!!!!!!! Then we will simply say, "Next man up"! GO RAVENS!

Sooo should we be expecting a story about each and every Ravens player, what their cap hit is, and how to restructure? Not necessary. Oz has worked wonders in the past and will continue to do so.

And I still stand my ground on next offseason's sleeper move- Ray Rice traded away for several high draft picks to Miami or Detroit. Bernard Pierce is too good to hide behind Rice, and substantially cheaper. Clearing Rice's contract after this season will help some of the deferred contracts that the Ravens will have to deal with this offseason. Give Pierce a fair share of carries in 2013 to ensure he's our future at the position and as long as it looks promising? Pull the trigger. Hate to say it- I love Rice in Baltimore. He's a great guy and a great player. But there's not a Ravens fan out there that can't tell me that Pierce is a Willis McGahee v2.0. Downhill runner, hits the hole hard and quick, and has good hands. In a pass happy offense, paying a RB top dollar should not be necessary. Heartbreaker of a move but it's destined to happen.

I wouldn’t break the bank for the guy. He’s on the wrong side of 30 and wasn’t anything special this year coming off the Achilles tear. Big risk comes with giving this guy big money right now.

"The wrong side of 30"? He just turned 30 in October. And with the entire off season to rehab and heal in time for training camp, who are you to say he won't be 100% again?
