Good point diesel330. Given the way the “Saints” went out to injure the 9ers I wouldn’t give them anything either. On the other hand, I doubt that this is making Donatell a happy employee…
====================================

So, they went out to injure players in a game IN WHICH THEY WEREN'T EVEN PENALIZED????

I have to hand it to Goodell. He knows his target audience mentality.

This has nothing to do with it being the Saints that wanted to hire him; the 9ers did the same thing to the Bucs last year. They want to keep him and they should. His contact is setup to allow the team to do this and he is fine with it. Don't read too much into this, try to be a big boy fan.

The fact that the secondary is the weakest part of the team centers around talent and not coaching, If you are going to armchair QB, try to do it with some intelligence. The 9ers lack talented corners behind Rogers, who is a solid #2. Brown is average. Culliver is suspect. They need a number 1 CB.

This happens all the time, especially when the team is in the same conference and put hits out on Crabtree's ACL. As a 9ers fan, I'm only concerned as to why they are so keen on keeping the coach of the biggest weakness on their team. What's next, promoting the special teams coach?

The 49ers kept a guy in their organization who would have gone to the extremely disfuntional Saints. Fair move on their part.

On the flip side, the 49ers secondary is by far the weakest unit on their team, so why would the Saints want him?

It would actually have been a smart move by the 49ers to let him go.

Bill Walsh often spoke about how letting his assistants interview for promotion opportunities elsewhere was the right thing to do, and an organization that brought bigger opporunties to its employees would be more successful and desirable to work for, after the Bengals did the exact opposite to him when he was one of their assistant coaches, providing bad refences and killing interviews for any other team interested in him as a head coach or coordinator in order to keep him in the fold. I guess this shows how far this 49er organization has come from the values of a guy like Bill Walsh.

Nobody got embarrassed in the Super Bowl, hater. The Ravens made more plays and won the game with a strong, last minute goal line stand. The Niners came within five yards of the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history. They outgained the Ravens by over 100 yards, had one 100 yard rusher and two plus 100 yard receiver. They had a bad first half. Nobody was embarrassed except possibly bitter Saints fans sitting at home watching two away teams play the big game in their stadium.
