In the spirit of assisting those with some cerebral issues, “Giants” Stadium is now Met Life Stadium, approximately 5 miles from the most expensive real estate in the world. I imagine one would find someting to do in New York City.
No wonder they define a Philadelphia Weekend is packing your bags as soon as you arrive!

since you clearly need it, here’s some advice on visiting ny metro. skip times square. it is the least valuable spot to visit (after 4 minutes anyway). then you’re free to concentrate your time and energy on some of the billion other choices.
unless of course you’re on a quest to visit wax museums in as many cities as possible, then feel free.

Who ever wins the SB should get to host the next year. Next one should be in Baltimore.
If team wins twice, second time game will be in their home stadium.

This is a dumb idea. Most players don’t want to play in snow and ice, as it’s much easier to get hurt. And I don’t look forward to a riveting 10-7 final game score.

This is a classic money grab by the league, who cares little about player safety and everything about money. On the humor side of things, it would have been fun watching Beyonce shaking her posterior in -10 degree weather.

“Football is meant to be played in the cold! In the elements!” That from fans who will watch at home from their recliner and who will berate a db for slipping on the ice and giving up a winning touchdown, which somehow has a direct impact on the fans’ quality of life. That sounds about right.

Also…a Super Bowl in Green Bay?! Are you people nuts? When 3/4 of the crowd comes from within the state and drives to the stadium on gameday and it’s still nearly impossible for the other 1/4 to find a room, how do you expect to accommodate 10 times the fans for Super Bowl week?

At least with it being cold, the teams will be playing in weather they’ve played all year long. Not to mention an average fan can attend the game. Maybe the cold weather and snow will keep nosebleeds from being $1,300 on the secondary market, since the 1st one is nearly impossible to get.

Start the season in the third week of September. Have the Super Bowl fall on the Sunday before President’s Day. Everyone has the next day off as a holiday to recover from the party the night before, and if the Super Bowl is in a cold weather city and a storm hits, you have a built in one-day delay to hold it the following day and ratings would still be maximized as it isn’t a work day.

They reneg on giving the SB to Kansas City because of possible weather issues and then they give it to New York and are now just realizing that weather is an issue? Dumb.

Why does the Superbowl have to be in an NFL city? Many college stadiums are larger and nicer than NFL stadiums, and are in great areas that would not only be nice to visit, but it would bring the NFL to areas that may not get to see it live. I’m tired of hearing all the old retread stadium names every year, just because it’s warm or domed.

New York and New Jersey are much better suited to handle adverse weather than Atlanta or Dallas are. You have to move equipment to southern cities if you are anticipating any sort of frozen precipitation whereas any Northern Atlantic state is going to have that equipment on hand at any time in the year.

The real risk is if that precipitation is so much that it overwhelms the infrastructure and the equipment. Also, the Governors and Mayors of these areas have to keep the rest of the city running as best they can during these situations. How many resources will they have to pull from other areas to guarantee the Super Bowl can go on?

At least they’ll have a plan. Atlanta and Dallas certainly didn’t.

The NJ Superbowl shows idiocy because the NFL told Miami, if the city wants any more Superbowls, they better build a cover over the stadium (in case it rains like it did when the Colts won in 2007.) Where’s the logic when you weigh NJ vs Miami? Does anyone even remember that it rained during that Superbowl in Miami? That won’t be said if there’s a snowstorm the week of the Superbowl in 2014.

Mike, you keep overlooking the best part of a cold weather Super Bowl: many of the corporate free ticket “fans of football” will stay home and leave more tickets for the real die hard fans. I don’t think too many Packer fans or even Dolphin fans would mind sitting in an ice bowl, in the snow to see THEIR team compete.

The NFL gave them the game to get the new stadium built. The real issue, at least in my opinion is that there are teams that have a chance every 5-10 years to host a Super Bowl (Miami, Arizona, New Orleans), while other teams with amazing tradition (Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Chicago) will NEVER get the chance to host a game. Make it fair. Rotate the game every year in each of the NFL cities. Snow, rain or whatever.

only people that want a snowy Superbowl are people who’s teams are not as good as others and need a fluky snow filled Superbowl to have a better chance to win…your wrs are too fast …we need it to be slushy so they slip down…your defense is too good ..we need them slipping and sliding so they dont hit so hard…we need your great athletes to have zero footing so the game can look like it’s the 1930′s again..when ANYBODY could play..you know boring not exciting and slow..in other words how the game was so-called “meant to be played”..in the minds of the slow and unathletic .
