Kaepernick celebrates Super season with a new tattoo

-1

The guy from Sporting News whose whining wasn’t sufficiently compelling to get me to remember his name will have another Colin Kaepernick tattoo about which to whine.

Via SFGate.com, the 49ers starting quarterback has capped a special season with a new tattoo.  Specifically, he has filled in the area under and above the “Against All Odds” design on his chest.

I like it.  And when he’s 78, it will remind him of how his chest used to be shaped.

Hey, regardless of whether they won or not this kid had a hell of a season. There’s no way he retires without a ring.

Steve Smith gets a new tattoo every time the Panthers miss out on the Super Bowl. Soon he’ll look like The Illustrated Man.

Man loves his tats. He’s not get DWIs, arguing with baby mamas, selling drugs, doesnt have 8 kids by some odd different amount of women, doesnt brag, hes educated, lets his play speak for itself, and shows all the great qualities to be a leader and a role model. Let him get as many tattoos as he wants

  37. thegreatgabbert says: Feb 7, 2013 11:22 PM

The Camel calls it a tattoo. The arresting officer called it “distinguishing characteristics”.

  38. prosb4hos says: Feb 7, 2013 11:23 PM

That makes a much better Phil Collins song than it does a tattoo, but to each their own!

  39. InFact says: Feb 7, 2013 11:28 PM

When he’s 60, he’ll only wish to wear long sleeve shirts…..

  40. cmonelisha says: Feb 7, 2013 11:36 PM

that looks nice..he needs to convice eli to get a bad ass tattoo

  41. goldenperspective says: Feb 8, 2013 12:28 AM

Why the criticism? Its a different day and age than even 15 years ago. Tattoos are extremely mainstream now. His tattoos all represent things of significant meaning to him, and he looks like a beast. I wouldn’t do it, but im sure between being a famous, Super Bowl caliber Qb, and the tattoos, the guy would put Mr. Sheen himself to shame in the wild ladies department. Oh, and if he decided later he didn’t like his tats, he will have plenty of money to get them removed from endorsements, and the huge NFL payday or paydays he’s bound to encounter. Plus he is an outstanding person regardless. Even though they lost the big game…..
    …..Winning!

  42. franchise87 says: Feb 8, 2013 12:33 AM

I don’t understand why people care if this kid or anybody else for that matter has tattoo’s or not. If Tom Brady had more tattoo’s than Allen Iverson would there be as many headlines? Personally all i care about is if the guy can win.

  43. barleyfreak says: Feb 8, 2013 1:13 AM

I can’t possibly express how much I don’t care about this.

  44. cosanostra71 says: Feb 8, 2013 1:24 AM

Hey the kid keeps his nose clean. If he wants to get a few tattoos let him. He is a hard working player and has a lot of talent. I’m excited for him to be a Niner, and I think he is exactly the kind of role model a quarterback should be, tattoos or not.

  45. Savage Lizard says: Feb 8, 2013 1:48 AM

Tattoos are as common as water these days, everybody and their grandma has one. Why is this a story?

  46. latchbeam says: Feb 8, 2013 2:50 AM

  47. kingcrusher says: Feb 8, 2013 3:55 AM

I really hope he does good next year (and the years to come), but I have this feeling he’s gonna start off slow next year and get injured early in the season, and then they’ll be looking around going “Where’s Alex?” :P

  48. bigbluebruiser says: Feb 8, 2013 5:44 AM

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has a similar tribal tattoo on his chest.

I’m sure when he’s 60 years old and the ink looks like a jelly doughnut has oozed all over his skin he will be proud of himself.

Trend followers: people who think today will always be today then are surprised when tomorrow arrives.

  52. thewizardofbs says: Feb 8, 2013 8:05 AM

He should have got a super Bowl ring tattooed on his finger to remind himself of the one he lost.

That’s the irony of it. A lot of people used to do it more to try to stand out and be different, now they do it because others do it.

My opinion is that it’s his body and it isn’t hurting anyone, so I don’t think anything negative about him from that standpoint AND it has nothing to do with the kind of person he is. I mean I don’t think Cromartie has tattoos does he? So clearly he’s a great role model. /sarcasm

I like the kid, he seems very mature for his years and he’s fun to watch. I wish him a long and great career.

  58. RedRuffensor says: Feb 8, 2013 10:24 AM

The number of tatoos and intelligence are inversely correlated.

  59. doe22us says: Feb 8, 2013 1:03 PM

Glad he lost, God knows what he may have put on his chest had they won “greatest thing since slice bread”? Sometimes when u get knocked down a peg is a good thing.
