All the haters here are just worried about chip Kelly being successful in the NFL and just want to post negative comments hoping they find more people who are worried as much as they are. Give this guy at least two years to show what he can do. And to the cowboy fan who posts negative comments on every single eagles’ article, just go away, we all know you’re worried, get over it. You have enough problems to worry about with the cowboys, so you should focus on that more than what’s going on with the eagles

Smart people are saying “This sounds like a great way to whip an underacheiving lazy and disjointed team into quick peak phiysical and mental condition with a better team report.

Dumb people are saying “the players aren’t gonna like this.”

People who don’t like it will be gone. People who stay will be in peak condition with the perfect attitude for success in the NFL. Give me 1/2 of the personnel talent on that on that offense staying and buying into it and watch out- forget about if more than 1/2 does.

Had to read the comments on this article to see how many Chip Kelly haters there would be.

I think the guy’s brilliant. We all know he’s going to run some form of a hurry-up offense like he did in Oregon and to do this your personnel has to be well conditioned. Who better to do this than a Navy SEAL trainer. Brilliant!

Had to laugh at this one…having served as a navy diver for my career and was at a Spec War SDV Team in Little Creek, VA as support, we did PT with the Frogs daily.
It takes a certain mindset to get behind the things we did and I dont see it happening with a bunch of prima donna, enabled since college divas buying into the rigor of SEAL training. One of the first things they have to get is there’s no ‘I’ in Team. Too many dont get that.

I like the idea of attracting free agents that want to join a team where physical conditioning is highly regarded. Imagine a team of fully committed players. Because when your fully committed to being the best at what you do you don’t show up overweight for training camp to begin with.

Jerry Rice and Walter Payton would have been excited about this too.

I really like this hire! I think people are over reacting to the whole pro thing. look around the NFL and you will find players paying there own money to get similar training from MMA fighters. The training the eagles will get from the navy seal can be adapted to fit within the CBA. I can’t wait this will bring toughness to a team that has become soft under Andy Reid, and I think all Eagles fans should be excited.

There’s a one size fits all type of program, the kind you can find at any gym. The goal is to train for speed, strength and endurance AND avoid injury (stretching).

But wouldn’t an artful trainer tailor workouts to suit players according to their positions on the field, targeting specific muscle groups and does this Navy Seal guy understand that?

This seems kind of gimmicky.

Or maybe Chip is bringing this guy in to help change an undisciplined attitude in the Eagles locker room.

People pretend like the NFL is the NBA, where the players are all old, lazy, and egomaniacs. However, the contracts aren’t guaranteed in the NFL, like they are in the NBA. NFL players have to work extra hard just to stay in the league. You’ve seen a lot of older players get cut or retire because they don’t want to work hard. In the NBA, these older players end up lagging around for a while because they are still under contract.

Chip Kelly’s new high-octane approach is just another reason why his hire will go down as the greatest decision in NFL history.

As an 18 year season ticket holder I think this is great. If the vets don’t like it, move on. I would like the whole culture of this team to change. After watching the pathetic effort from this team the last few years it will be a welcomed change. We need foxhole type players and leaders more than anything.

I don’t see a problem here. The label is being misread. He trained Navy Seals. That is an incredible credential. He should be capable of keeping a body in shape. Translation to football maybe different. Why try to predict the guy’s future negatively by something that he holds as such a positive in his resume’? I don’t get the negatives. I would imagine there are quite a few players on the team that would welcome a way to be faster and stronger if he can bring it…

He did not call NFL players, or Eagle players “kids”… the quote was from 2010 referring to his college “kids” at Oregon.
