Vikings reach into the CFL, sign CB Roderick Williams

The Vikings have gone north of the border to add to their secondary.

Cornerback Roderick Williams, who has played in the Canadian Football League for the last three years, has signed in Minnesota, the Vikings announced today.

Williams played his college football at Alcorn State, the alma mater of Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier, and has been an All-Star in the CFL with the Edmonton Eskimos. The Eskimos released Williams last week to give him the opportunity to sign with the Vikings.

Last season Williams had an interception against the Montreal Alouettes, who were coached by Marc Trestman, the new coach of the Bears. Perhaps this season Williams will get another interception against a Trestman-coached offense.
