If Vick runs for 1,000 yards (which unless you have a DeLorean for that trip back to 2006 Mike, ain’t gonna happen), he will set the record for fumbles in a season in 2013.

Chip Kelly may succeed in Philly, but it won’t be with Michael Vick at QB. Nobody succeeds in the playoffs with Michael Vick at QB.

It’s one thing to set goals and another thing to set the PROPER goals. I would much rather hear him say he thinks he can pass for 4,000 yards than to hear him say he plans to put up running back numbers.

When he runs he gets hit. When he gets hit he fumbles and gets injured. I’m glad he’s enthusiastic and confident. Now if he were just a little smarter…

Please remember Mike Vick often says some pretty outrageously optimistic things this time of year. “Once you start trying not to get hurt, you get hurt.” Mike, you really haven’t been paying attention. Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernik were kept on a short leash running until they could demonstrate the hit avoidance skills necessary to stay healthy. RGIII also amply demonstrated the pitfalls of disruption of quarterback continuity. The first and foremost job of a Quarterback will always be passing accurately and making good reads to avoid interceptions. Running backs are paid to run and risk the pounding, and only if the Quarterback exercises extreme caution is it worthwhile to risk losing his arm. Chip Kelley isn’t stupid, so you’d best work on your passing and sliding Mike, rather that you’re bragging beforehand, I think you got that covered already.

The amount of hate that fills every Mike Vick article is nothing short of astounding!!! By reading the vast majority of the posts you would swear that MV7 single-handedly ruined the Eagles 2012 campaign. I suppose it had nothing to do with losing 4 out of 5 starting linemen. Nothing to do with the atrocious “pass first, ignore SHADY, 5-7 step drop routes” play calling. Absolutely nothing to do with that retarded WIDE 9 scheme that left running lanes big enough for 18 wheelers to fit thru!!! It was all on Vick, Right? It was Vick’s fault that AR called the same exact plays with a struggling replacement O-Line as he did when his Probowler Peters was active, Right??? I’m not saying Vick didn’t have his hand in the Eagles dismal season but jeez a lil objectivity would be refreshing!!!! I don’t care if it was Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Etc. Etc… if they lose 4-5 Starting linemen they are going to have an off season!!!

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him bounce back this year. I think he really regressed because they were trying too hard to make him into a pocket passer. Focus the offense around his strengths, let him be himself, and I can see him having a bounceback year.

He’s always been a competitor. Let him compete and let’s see if can do what he says. He restructured his deal. What else do you want??

Last year we had all them over paid kids (especially on the D side) give up on Andy Reid. Injuries all over the O line and the D couldn’t hold anyone. Castillo is gone. Andy is gone. McNabb is gone.. now you guys are putting Vicks head on the block. Calm the hell down. Who else can come in here and become the starting QB for my Eagles? Foles? He’s gonna compete. He’s here. Alex smith? Geno smith? Dennis Dixson. Yall CRAY! You guys can’t predict the future.

Look here, we have a nice fresh start. Why not let these guys compete and try and bring something to game. Andy brought more to this team than any other coach. So we moved on. Let’s let Chip make his decisions and let the players play. If you don’t like it become a cowgirls fan…

long time eagles season ticket holder here. vick can’t stay healthy. plain and simple. if he is positioned as a weapon, he will get hurt. but if eagles run mccoy a lot, complement mccoy with bryce brown (presuming he quits fumbling) and vick quickly gets ball to jackson, maclin and other receivers; then eagles offense may have something with vick at helm. but if vick runs he will get hurt and knocked out. he needs to ENABLE the offense by getting the ball in the hands of the playmakers to let the make plays. hand it off or drop back and get rid of it fairly quickly.

Anytime the QB has more rushing yards than the running back, you have problems! Always been Vick’s problem. If he can’t find a receiver immediately, he takes of running. Needs to learn how to extend the play by moving around in the pocket, go down, or throw ball out of bounds. Buttom line: he is so fragile he must avoid hits..

My worry with Chip Kelly is that he has absolutely NO EXPERIENCE in managing NFL players…they’re not like college kids who will do anything for their coach. He’s so out of his depth…what do you do if Vick isn’t your starting QB? You really will need to cut him…

Why do semi-retired pros always drop “numbers” (1000 yards, 12 wins, 150 receptions, etc.) during off-season interviews? It means nothing. Do you ever hear Peyton Manning say, “I can throw for 45 touchdowns this year”? No. Why? Because he can…and did so in the past. And don’t give me that, “I am just setting a goal for myself”. Fine…just set your goal, shut up, and do it.

Mike you were never one of elite QB’s in league. Maybe for a 10 game stretch in 2010 but once teams adjusted you fell back to below average play. Say what you want Mike but 2 playoff wins, both in same season, in your entire career is not elite. Elite means you are a top performer at your position for at least a few years. Playoff wins or even appearances are necessary to even be considered elite. 2-5 playoff record is far from it man.

Vick played his part in last year’s problems. He put the ball on the ground, got injured by not sliding when he should have, etc.

He could hit the numbers you listed there, but that will only help you in fantasy football because Philly aren’t winning anything.

Thats always been the problem with Vick he runs his mouth and his legs…..Peerless Price signed a big FA deal with Atlanta after a couple big years in Buffalo…he only had about 60 catches but Vick ran for 1000 yds. Price was labeled a bust because Vick couldn’t read defenses and always looked to run….
if he can’t run the offense move him to blocking back on the punt team or make him a FA!!!
