He did more with the Lions DBs with less talent than anyone could ever hope for. On the other hand watch his DBs to see how often they ever turn their head to look for the ball. This is why we got so many flags thrown and so few turnovers

For all the people complaining about this hire I think its safe to assume the Rams defensive backfield is a lot better than what Walton had to work with last year.

A little under the radar but Detroit’s defense has been very good on 3rd down; which if I’m not mistaken Walton handled those packages.

He’s also coached some talented young DBs.

Rams have an experienced coaching staff with five former DCs on it and young, talented players. He should do fine fitting in there.

After using almost their entire drafts on Offensive players and D Line, Walton did more with less. the few good players he had were hurt most of the time. He actually got the most of the rag-tag players he had. A remarkable accomplishment considering the talent level.
The Lions posters here do not realize yet how bad things will get without Walton.

good one laur… really good one. Good luck with that by the way. As for Walton, I happen to think he did quite well elevating the players we had to the 13th ranked defense in the league. Yeah, I know there were still some issues there, but I think you actually have a good one there. Don’t be surprised if he takes your defense up a notch.
