Cedric Benson pays fines to settle three pending legal issues

Running back Cedric Benson is due to become a free agent again.  And he’ll hit the market with a clean legal docket.

Mostly.

According to the Associated Press, Benson has paid fines for a trio of citations in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin.

Benson forked over $452.50 for speeding (he was exceeding the posted limit by 41 miles per hour), $200.50 for driving without a valid license, and $200.50 for an animal-at-large citation.

Benson still faces another animal-at-large citation based on allegations that his two Rottweilers attacked 17 calves on a neighbor’s farm in December.  Benson goes to court on that citation next Wednesday.

Benson, the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft, started the first five games of the 2012 season with the Packers before suffering a foot injury.  He missed the rest of the season.

Nice to get those things from the pending box into the finished files. Stuff piles up on you.

The Rotties were badly outnumbered but performed heroicly.

Much worse than anything Suh ever did and you let it go like this???? His dogs harming a neighbors calves should be enough for some jail time.

While the neighbors might not like it, the Packers should bring him back at the league minimum. It looked like he was really starting to fit into the offense before he went down with the injury.

So he drove over the speed limit once, didn’t pay the fee to update his license, and carries his dogs in public without a leash.

    Public Menace!

How much financial damage did he bestow on his neighbor’?

Sounds like an open item to me that needs to be filed

No no no this isn’t even close to the crap Suh did! He crashed into a lady (could’ve killed her by the way) then told police that no body was hurt, then goes to her house and offers her a low amount of money to cover it up. Among the number of things Suh has done you’re worried about Cedric Bensons dog attacking a cow!? Maybe your a Hindu and you value a cows life more than a humans but for the majority of people Suh is still a piece of trash
