He is over-rated i hope we tag him and trade his rights or let hime walk, he has never been any good. i rather see us draft ND TE Tyler Efiert and go with the combo of him and Paulson istead of wasting more time on bums like davis and paul
_________
The chance that Eifert is around by the Redskins first pick this year (No. 55) is very slim; but even if he was, are you really saying the Redskins should draft a tight end instead of defensive back with that pick, especially when Washington could sign Davis, who's a better fit than Eifert anyway.

And as for your complaints about Paul, I'm not a big fan of his as a pass-catcher (although he is an awesome downfield blocker), and since won't be cut, due to his killer special-teams play, DC might as well let the Paul TE experiment go on for as long as Shanny wants it to.

How do you not mention that Sleepy Davis is one failed drug test away from sitting out for a year? This more than his injury status is why he should sign on the cheap long term. Or the very reasonable at least.

IF he comes back to the Skins he wont get the money he thinks he deserves. But one thing he will have to do; start producing and stop acting like a fool. He needs to look at how Fat Albert was handled and realize that Shan isnt going to put up with his nonsense.
__________
I agree with 90% of what you said, but I would argue that, like Trent Williams, Davis' "nonsense" has stopped already. Davis really showed last year that he had stopped acting a fool. He explained in an interview that his off-the-field issues were largely a result of living with his knucklehead brother and subsequently hanging out with a bad crowd. Following his supension he asked his brother to move out and, like Williams, worked hard to clean up his act and produce more on the field. In 2012 he really stepped up his game and, depending on how his Achilles heels up, probably deserves a big, or at least incentive laden, contract.

In the end it boils down to how Jared Cook, who has also had injury issues, and Fred Davis look in their physicals, and how much Washington would have to pay for either one.

Cook is a younger, more physical version of Davis; and if Davis hasn't cleaned up his act as much as he says he has, or is asking for too much money, it would be easy to see Shanahan cutting him loose in favor of Cook.
