Richard Sherman is an idiot who has basically trashed every player in the NFL other than himself. Here’s a summary of Richard Sherman’s vaunted “trash talk”: “everyone sucks, and I’m the best.”

There’s nothing clever or selective about any of it; it’s just blathering, posturing nonsense. A real trash talker picks his spots instead of emulating 50 Cent. That’s who he’s become–the 50 Cent of the NFL. Overkill.

Too bad his feet aren’t as fast or his hands as big as his mouth. The FACT here is White burned him for a TD and his team lost, but this is what we get to read when you have a me first guy who isn’t about team. He wouldn’t even be a starter in Chicago, NY or San Fran.

Trash talking only creates blogs and gets you noticed. Playing football is what makes the NFL the greatest sport. There is a difference in being an athlete and being an all around football player. I want to see broken tackles, hard hits and defenses shutting down the opponent. That’s what makes the NFL. Scoring a touchdown without being touched just makes you athletic

I don’t think the previous seahawks fan knows football or watches the games himself. I’m a bears fan but I know football. Bears are a older defense and they just couldn’t execute. The bears need a better o line and another receiver to complement Marshall. They did not get out coached. Failed execution by the players was the reason for our loss. The seahawks got a really good defensive front 7. The pressure they put on the qb is the reason the secondary was able to make plays throughout the season. When a qb just flings the ball in the air its easy for the db’s to make a play. By experienced and good quarterbacks the secondary will get burned and it’s been proven. Example; tom Brady. Ur a good db when you make disruptions yourself. When someone causes the disruption for you and you take advantage of their good play is called luck. Being in the right spot at the right time

I want to see football like it was in the past. To me it seems like most nfl players are just looking for the publicity and individual awards. You wont succeed if you don’t have confidence in yourself. You play the game to be the best but to say you are the best in your first couple years is hilarious. Think about all the great nfl players before you. Wreak havoc consistently throughout your career before you consider yourself as one of the best. Until then muzzle it up. #1 bears fan right here!

I disagree with trash talking is fun in the NFL. It’s annoying. It’s not boxing match. It’s a team sport. Richard Sherman is a good player but definitely not the best. Take a look at his stats and see who he intercepted. Tom Brady is the only great qb who he picked off. Tom Brady shredded that secondary for 400 yards. They won the game but if you are gonna look at that game the way Sherman does then Brady won the individual match up. No where are there comments about what Cutler and Marshall did to Seattles cornerbacks. Most receivers and quarterbacks are intimidated by their size. That’s all they got going for themselves. I guarantee their names will fade away soon. His trash talking is just to get himself on tv. My opinion Sherman is no where near he best and will never be. Charles Tillman is one of the best corner backs in the league and he gets no credit at all. The best thing about Tillman is that he don’t care if he gets noticed. He knows who he is and he knows he can play his position. Tired of hearing his mouth. Just play football and you will get respect. Respect will get you further than being a clown

Richard Sherman is a good CB. There’s no question about it. However, he simply needs to shut his trap. Roddy White is one of the best WRs in the league. If he’s such an easy match up then cover him the entire game and see what happens. How many times did Sherman cover him that game?

By the way, who won the game, Richard? Seems to me Richard’s a “me” guy and not a “team” guy.

Two things here. 1 you got burnt on a long TD pass while you were laying on the ground because of the route. 2 there was at least one other time I can think of you covering white off the top of my head. The sideline route at the beginning of the game for like 15-20. There’s 65 of his yards. And again you looked stupid from the route.

I’ll give Busta Rhymes credit where it’s due..lol, he’s a good physical corner with good cover skills,but bragging is what get you burned, now its a goal for receivers to burn him. I remember Revis with Revis island . Revis didn’t talk much , but the press took the whole revis island thing to another level,I remember that making Stevie Johnson Motivated and he partied on that island all day. Seahawks also have some decent safeties that make the CB position a little easier.

Sherman is the Muhammad Ali of cornerbacks he gets into most wideouts heads and takes them out of their game he frustrates the hell out of them. Why don’t people appreciate trash talking anymore? It’s so sad. The NFL is succeeding into turning the game into a girls league and are slowly but surely getting the fans to go along with it. Trash talking creates fun rivalries and makes games much more intense. NBA is the same way now. No more trash talking and it’s sad.

People that claim they watch games but really repeat ESPN or what other people say. Sherman likes to play off coverage more than he presses {which he is great at} He does so to bait QB’s to throw the ball his way. So all this “mugging” you’re talking about has zero substance. Browner is in press often- he can be beat a little more. Sherman lead league passes defensed & 2nd ints. He backs up his talk without question.

This article left out some context about what led Sherman to make these comments on his ESPN appearance. They played him a clip from a Roddy White interview a few weeks back (in which White spoke about his interaction with Sherman on-field) then asked Sherman to respond to it. Here’s the quote:

Roddy White: “He’s a little bit of a talker, and I just needed him to be quiet for a quarter or two. For two and a half quarters he didn’t want to talk. When they started getting back in the game he wanted to start talking and I said, ‘Hey, don’t worry, you’re gonna leave here with that “L”. It’s a long flight back too. Five hours, enjoy it!’”

So the trash talk is coming both ways. Even if ESPN is instigating it. They each come across to me as super competitive guys having some fun getting each other (and their fan bases) riled up. It’s got me especially pumped for the ATL vs SEA matchup next season, so I welcome the smack talk and want more of it. Just don’t like it when articles leave out information to make the story fit a particular narrative.
