After Weatherford was released, Westhoff said it was because Weatherford was 20-something in punting distance average, and Westhoff “is not 20-something in anything.” (he actually said that). That comment started it all.

Westhoff’s comment, while true, also neglected the fact that Weatherford led the league (and tied an NFL record) for punts inside the 20 that year. Obviously, if you are placing punts inside the 20, you are going to decrease your punting distance average. (that’s science–Ron Burgundy voice).

Jets fan here, but have to side with Weatherford on this one.

Steve earned his check in Super Bowl 46, clearly field position was critical and saftey was a direct result of his punting.

Idiotsayswhat? Sorry Floor-Boy, Westhoff started it all. Seriously, how stupid can you be? Started in early Sept of 2011 when Westhoff said “There were times when he just didn’t do the job,” among other jabs. Westhoff then doubled down on those comments after the Giants beat the Jets in week 16 of that year.
Whats even more funny, the first article linked to disproves that Westhoff has remained quiet.
