There isn’t a lot of room for sentimentality in the NFL when it comes to resigning players. Still, if there were a reasonable way for the Browns to keep Phil Dawson, I’d like to see that happen. He’s been with the Browns since 1999, is the only player to have played every year of the “new” Browns, he is an excellent kicker. There is no reason to think he’s done, or that another team won’t pick him up if the Browns don’t sign him.

Besides Joe. I will miss cary williams. He is a tight cover guy presses and is just hitting his stride. That being said Ellerbe is hurt every week and we have situational pass rushers I.e M. McAdoo A. Hamilton so let’s see what and how hungry these young guys are…

For the Bengals, Cedric Peerman is an RFA. You can add LB Vinnie Rey as an ERFA. You can add OT Dennis Roland, TE Richard Quinn, and LS Clark Harris as UFAs.

Looking at the lists, it occurred to me that there aren’t that many of these guys whose signing elsewhere would constitute a real loss.

If the Ravens lose Kruger, Williams, Ellerbe and Reed that will be the worst case scenario. However I think they will manage to retain at least one of those guys/possibly two. No matter what I doubt its Kruger.

I don’t think there is realistically much of a chance of them losing Flacco.

I also doubt anyone gives up a 2nd or 1st round pick for any of the RFA’s. McKinnie isn’t going to get top money anywhere so that will just be a bottom of the barrel fight. No idea what happens there.

The Steelers are in a tight spot at RB, WR, OL, NG and CB. Wallace might command a cap-busting contract, just might — but of all of the guys on that list for the Steelers, Sanders, Mendy, McClendon and Lewis seem to be some of the best value players.

The Ravens are going to have to make some tough decisions too with Flacco, Kruger, Reed, Williams, Jones and Ellerbe all up for contract.

We haven’t even talked about the 2013 rook infusion either. Oh boy.
