Panthers can’t keep turning down players who would like to play for them. We really could have used plaxico burress on the red zone last year. Remember when we cut Keyshawn Johnson thinking Dwayne Jarrett was the next big thing…and look how that turned out. Smh stop signing mediocre and sub par players and lets get some difference makers.

chris canty would be an awesome addition to a panthers defensive line that has already become one of the best on the outside. add him and another dt through the draft and they could start to resemble their d line from 2003. charles johnson and greg hardy are already a way better duo than peppers and rucker…if they add a strong vet like buckner and a young, mean dt like kris jenkins they could have a scary d again.

To all those folks who are high on the horse about Canty. His play has declined. Don’t buy into the hype. Coming off knee injury late in his career. He won’t be worth the high contract. He wasnt worth the big contract the Giants gave him.

This sounds like a good fit but I can’t help but wonder why the Giants didn’t keep Canty? And I have to think Gettleman knows why.

What these dudes like Canty and Avril always forget is that the best teams are all built from excellent drafting…NOT giving “bloated” deals to free agents who are looking for the big payday. Need I remimd anyone about how Mario Williams and Albert Haynesworth performed after they got their payday.

These guys will get paid by teams who are looking to make a splash and put butts in seats…but more often then not these guys never fit in with the chemistry and schemes of their new teams.

Its highly unlikely that any of these fortune hunters will end up in Baltimore or San Francisco…but more likely in teams with big cap space but little overall talent.
