All the loudmouth boisterous “Ryan” family have been, and still, are overrated. That being said, both brothers have been in situations where management didn’t see eye to eye with them. Jerry Jones can’t admit he’s too old to be making decisions for a franchise he has a vested interest in, like Al Davis in his later years. Mike Tannenbaum was more about catering to the fan base, than winning championships. Still, if the Ryan’s would run their mouths less, there teams probably wouldn’t act the way they do. Attitude reflects leadership… coach.

The new GM has a lot to do, no doubt, and this was the easy lifting part.

They’re not going to be able to get rid of Sanchez, but he’ll most likely be gone after next season, so another chunk comes off the cap.

Question is what to do with Revis.
At this point he’s almost a luxury on a team like the Jets, so I’d be leaning to get whatever you could for him, and move on.

Re-sign Landry, they’ll probably cut at least one, maybe both starting OG’s, let Keller and Greene walk, draft a pass rusher, RB, and an OG.

Jets fans there are still some more cuts coming & hopefully a few deals to get rid of some old dead weight…certain OLB’s, DT’s, WR’s & QB’s… No names need to be given now (unless u guys ask)… Time for some new blood —CAN’T WAIT!!!!!

To all Jets fans above who now bravely assert the Jets are under the cap and have solved the problem, consider that while they are about $7 million under the cap after these cuts, they only have 10 starters from last season under contract, with little money available to sign anyone.

These moves were necessary, but it still ain’t pretty.

The “Salary Cap Hell” Jets just freed up close to 30 million dollars off of their cap by cutting three backups and two aging starters.

So much for cap hell. Jets are about 11 million under the cap right now after those moves.

As much as I truly despise the jets with a passion, this was probably one of the smartest moves they could make. Their new GM appears to actually be capable of doing his job unlike the previous one.
