It’s no surprise that the Jets are done with quarterback Tim Tebow. It will be a major surprise if they get anything in return for the remainder of his 2010 first-round contract.
Still, they’ll try. Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com reports that the Jets will shop Tebow at the Scouting Combine.
The Jets gave up a fourth-round pick and a sixth-rounder for Tebow and a seventh-rounder last March. And then the Jets barely used him.
With the proliferation of mobile quarterbacks, someone should give Tebow a chance to be Tebow, like the Broncos did in 2011. He’s better than plenty of players who currently are employed as NFL quarterbacks.
And arguably better than a few of them who start for their teams.
