Georgia outside linebacker Jarvis Jones, widely viewed as one of the top players in this year’s NFL draft, has decided not to work out at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jones has decided to put all his focus on peaking at Georgia’s Pro Day on March 21, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. Jones chooses not to run or do any other workouts in Indianapolis.

For Jones, the biggest question is whether he checks out medically: Jones started his college career at USC and transferred after the school’s doctors recommended that he quit football because of spinal stenosis. Georgia’s doctors cleared him to play and he had no further neck problems, but he did have ankle, groin and shoulder injuries that slowed him at times in 2012 and caused him to miss two games. Jones will go through the standard medical exams at the Combine.

If NFL team doctors believe Jones can have a safe and healthy NFL career, he’s likely to be a very high pick: NFL Network’s Mike Mayock has called Jones a Top 5 talent, while ESPN’s Mel Kiper ranks Jones as the best prospect in the entire draft. But we won’t get to see Jones showing off his impressive physical gifts at the Combine.
