Sebastian Vollmer recently had knee surgery

AFC Champiohship Football AP

When Patriots right tackle Sebastian Vollmer hits the free agent market (or not) next month, he’ll be doing so on a surgically repaired knee.

According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, Vollmer recently had an arthroscopic procedure. He played through back and knee problems last year but only missed one game.

With the degree of the surgery unknown, it’s unclear how it will impact the Patriots’ plans to negotiate with Vollmer.

A one-year franchise tag worth $9.6 million is a steep price, unless they’re confident his health issues aren’t an issue.

Surgically repaired? That’s a little dramatic.

Guys get scoped all the time. It would be helpful if this article had any of those things called details in it.

if you think that surgery is routine you don’t know anything about it

There are two ways to look at the idea of routine surgery.

The orthopedic surgeon has done it so many times before that to him, the procedure is “routine.” And then there’s the patients perspective, it’s his first, or second such surgery, so to him, maybe not so much.
