With all due respect to Bill Polian, running 40 yards in a straight line in underwear doesn’t really tell anyone much about what a football player can do under ordinary football circumstances.
For the guy who runs 40 yards in a straight line faster than anyone else at the Scouting Combine, there will be some extra meaning to the largely meaningless exercise.
Adidas placed an ad in the Indianapolis Star explaining that whoever runs the fastest 40 will get a “contract offer.”
The running backs, receivers, and quarterbacks get their shot at the fastest 40 on Sunday. Adidas ultimately may have to race Under Armour and Nike to the winner.

bigger question is, Who will draft the guy?
Leon Sandcastle has this on lock. Backpedaling.
Under Armour has the sport locked through the players, Nike has the Fans Gear pinned. I’m not sure why Adidas is even bothering to try.

With Al Davis running the afterlife now, who will draft this person with the fastest time?
Don’t sign with Adidas – they are cursed! RG3, DeMarco Murray, Prince Amukamara, Eric Berry, Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Tracy McGrady, John Wall, Ricky Rubio, etc., etc.
Adidas is responsible for more season ending injuries than the Madden Curse, and they do it across all sports lol.
My money is on Rich Eisen
Just says contract ‘offer’. Could be $1.00 a year.
I remember when running the fastest 40 would guarantee u a contract with the Raiders
Josh Robinson won last year then…
Where’s his contract offer Adidas?
who wears adidas today anyways??? i havent since my run dmc days
I could see making this offer if the guy with the fastest time was wearing Adidas sneakers while doing so.
Doesn’t make much sense to me if the player was wearing another brand though.
And drafted by Al Davis. RIP big Al.
