Three out of the top 6 kickers last year (Forbath, Walsh, Tucker) were rookies. FIVE out of the bottom six (Bironas, Crosby, Akers, Vinateri, Folk) were relatively high priced veterans.

$2.9m for that kind of uncertainty is just not good business.

Our new Punter is hit or miss all day long. Our Kicker Ryan Lindell has at times been clutch and other times has looked absolutely terrible. He is usually Golden from 25 to 45, but anything longer and he struggles. I don’t expect Marrone to keep Lindell past training camp. I’m assuming that the Bills will pick-up an un-drafted Rookie Punter and Kicker to run during TC. If either prove to be better than Powell or Lindell, then I’m sure Marrone and Nix will decide to go with the Rookie or Rookies.

The whole Special Teams scene has been different throughout the NFL since they changed the Kick-offs.
