Former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson took a good first step in proving he can do something else.

Robinson just ran an unofficial 4.34-second 40 on his first attempt at the NFL Scouting Combine.

He’s been struggling with a hand problem, which will give him a built-in excuse if he doesn’t catch well. But his speed and his college production (the most rushing yards ever by a quarterback at the FBS level) will make him an intriguing prospect.

The biggest question is what to do with him. He’s worked as a receiver and a return man, but he’s obviously still very raw, and will need time to develop.
