McCalebb is fastest RB this year, Chris Johnson still fastest ever

Auburn’s Onterio McCalebb is the fastest running back at this year’s Scouting Combine, but Chris Johnson is still the record holder for the fastest 40-yard dash in Combine history.

McCalebb, who ran a 40 in an unofficial time of 4.21 seconds, wasn’t quite so fast when the official times came out: McCalebb’s official time was 4.34 seconds, a full tenth of a second off Johnson’s Combine record of 4.24 seconds.

Still, McCalebb has the best straight-line speed of any running back in this year’s class, and the only other running back who was even close is Knile Davis of Arkansas, who ran his 40 in 4.37 seconds.

After McCalebb and Davis, the next-fastest 40 times were turned in by Utah State’s Kerwynn Williams (4.48 seconds), UCLA’s Johnathan Franklin (4.49 seconds) and LSU’s Michael Ford (4.50 seconds.)

Can we now please stop posting/getting excited about these ridiculous “unofficial” times please?

The Official times aren’t even close the the bs we are hearing…

4.65 to 4.71 official OL fastest
4.21 to 4.34 official RB fastest

    Are you kidding me?

An unofficial time means absolutely nothing, and I thought dieon Sanders, or bo Jackson set the record for fastest 40 time at the combine? Me and my friend had this argument before and that’s what we found on the internet

On the ESPN 30 for 30 about Bo Jackson (which was awesome) it stated that Bo ran a 4.11, the fastest time ever at the combine.

That’s a shame, I was really excited when I heard….only because then CJ2ydsanddown would lose his one claim to fame, and disappear until the NFL Network does their “Top 10 flash in the pan players” list

So apparently references to the Whizzinator (see Onterrio Smith) aren’t allowed? Attica! Attica!
