APWe wish that the Underwear Olympics would look more like the real Olympics, where people race against each other and not against the clock.
If that’s the way the Scouting Combine were set up, Tavon Austin and Marquise Goodwin would have put on a show together, as opposed to individually.
And based on those individual performances, Goodwin would have won. Barely.
Unofficially, each guy ran the 40-yard dash in 4.25 seconds. Officially, Goodwin covered the distance in 4.27 seconds. Austin pulled off a 4.34.
For now, then, Goodwin has the inside track at that offer from Adidas.

Cue the obligatory “Raiders” comments in 3…2….1…….
With the third pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Marquise Goodwin…..
The official times are no better than the unofficial ones due to the hand start on the timer.
They need some sort of pressure pad that starts the clock when the downed hand gets lifted.
To me, Goodwin looks more like a track athlete playing football while Austin looks like a really fast football player. Both were impressive but I think Austin will be special in the NFL.
Okay, looks like a future Raider..
Officially Ryan Swope was as fast as Tavon Austin, but around 30 pounds heavier.
how hard is it to sync an electronic timer and then immediately release what it reads at the end? Seems like it should be 100% accurate and official within seconds of completion.
There is a pretty big difference between Austins “unofficial” 4.25 and official 4.34 time. Who in the hell came up with the unofficial time?
Forget about who time faster i would take austin with my pick before goodwin austin a football player with unlimited skills
I would watch if it were a race or these guys competed against each other in each event for points or something. Definently would be more interesting!
maybe someday they will use lasers to clock the runners time. you know in the future or something
Swope ran the same 40 Austin, he’s bigger, longer broad jump, higher vert and stronger….. But you know, he’s white n all so he doesn’t get the coverage because they don’t have a rooney rule in place for white guys at the receiver position.
