Getty ImagesOregon’s Dion Jordan and Florida’s Sharrif Floyd might have run themselves into the top 10 picks in the NFL Draft this morning, if they weren’t there already.
Floyd, a 297-pound defensive tackle, ran his 40s this morning in unofficial times of 4.93 and 4.87 seconds. While those will get adjusted (as yesterday showed us, perhaps down by as much as a tenth of a second), they’re still blazing for a man his size.
Jordan’s size is another issue, as he’s gained weight to get into the 240s, and will likely need to add more after he has shoulder surgery.
But the fact he ran his 40s in an unofficial 4.53 and 4.63 will overshadow that, and is already earning him comparisons to Aldon Smith from the NFL Network’s Mike Mayock.

“Sharrif Floyd, Dion Jordan blaze through their 40s”
They ran well, too.
Floyd was already a Top 5 lock in most circles. Jordan definitely helped himself though. I don’t see him getting past the Jets at 9.
The combine is sort of a joke. Tell me when these players will ever be playing in a game wearing nothing but under armor?
The combine should have these guys wearing full pads.
I feel like Jordan might not make it past 4 with Chip Kelly drafting his former player. His versatility is exactly what the Eagles need switching to 3-4.
I watch almost all of the gator games.
Floyd = beast
Floyd is the best DT in this year’s class, I watched a couple of gators games and he was a beast can’t believe people are only figuring this out in February.
Floyd goes 3rd if he’s still on the board, which itself is questionable.
The Eagles are already set up for the 3-4. If ANYTHING they need a huge NT to clog the middle, not another undersized speedy LB which they have in Kendriks. They go OL guaranteed. Luke Joeckel or Chance Warmack.
Not good for Star Lotulelei coming off the worries about his heart condition. Another thing that won’t help him is this is one of the deepest DL drafts. So if he can’t convince a lot of teams the heart is no big deal he could slide pretty far.
On topic I think Floyd and Jordan are going to be great right away. Floyd more so than Jordan because of Jordan’s injury. But again this is a deep draft so I expect a lot of quality out of the linemen in this draft.
I remember Mike Mamula looking got in shorts too.
Kelly had better be careful. Jordan has to translate to handling big, fast, strong guys every week. This is not college spread offenses. Big lineman are paid to hunt you down. Your first high draft choice has to be right, especially in Philly.
Sharrif don’t like it. Rock the Combine. Rock the combine.
