Getty ImagesNotre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o is recovering from a stinger in his right shoulder and will not bench press at the Scouting Combine, NFL Network reports.
Te’o, who had what may have been the most-watched press conference in the history of the Scouting Combine as he answered questions about his bizarre “dead girlfriend” hoax, will also be closely watched in his on-field workouts. As we noted in December, before Te’o's personal life became a circus, there are questions about whether Te’o has the speed NFL teams need from a linebacker.
If Te’o runs well at the Combine, it could go a long way toward putting those concerns about his speed to rest. So for Te’o, running will be much more important than lifting.

Would not draft.

A “stinger”is code for “he got his period”.
Well, that’s a convenient injury.
Does the “stinger” retroactively date back to before the National Championship Game? Is that his excuse for getting pancaked all night?
Unless he just got the stinger (which would be odd w/o contact) this would be a red flag for me. Stingers usually go away pretty quick, if he has a pinched nerve it can be a longer recovery and strength can be lost.
Sounds like another lie so he can avoid a poor workout result. What exactly has he been doing lately that would result in contact causing a stinger ?
This kid should be considered the definition of red flag to the people who draft nfl players.
If there was one guy who needed to do absolutely everything asked of him at the combine–and do it all well–it was Te’o. Instead, he’s still getting over a stinger six weeks after his last game? Too many red flags.
