Apparently the Steelers’ intended long-term solution is to lean on the League to dramatically raise the cap in future years.

-------------------------------------------
Do you not expect the cap not to increase in coming years? If it is not, then obviously the NFL is a horrible business. Any 101 level Risk Management class will show the Cap increasing, even if it is only level loaded with entry.

How stupid can one organization possibly be? And their fans still cant admit Colbert has no idea how to balance a checkbook. What a sad and pathetic franchise. I guess Pittsburgh natives are happy with thrid place. Just awful.

They still might lose half of their secondary and 3/4 of their line backing corp, too.

Only a petty classless organization would take your advice buddy. Division rival or not, how you handle your in-house contract situations shouldnt be dependant on another team in the division or a deadline that has nothing to do with your franchise. This is why you attempt to be a journalist and arent a football executive. The steelers, as much as I dislike them, are anything but classless, so with that being said I highly doubt they are even taking it into consideration.

Everyone seems to be back loading their Cap Space......Meaning, in the next few years the teams will be cutting some high priced QBs and franchise type players to stay under the cap. Getting the $ now by restructuring seems to be the best bet for the players. However, I wonder what the incentive is for some of the older players to keep playing at the high levels with chances of injury?
